Selah
I am getting a really beautiul scapular of Our Lady of Guadalupe soon. However, I want to be sure I know how to wear it! I have been looking for pictures online, but I cannot seem to find a picture that shows how one would wear it. Can you help? Thanks!
Pontifex
The word Scapular comes from the Latin word "Scapula" which means shoulder. It is called this because it is worn with the two pieces of cloth hanging in front and back (approx. at the sternum in the front and the middle of the back) with the cords laying over the shoulders. If it is a brown Scapular it should come with instructions to be inducted into the brown scapular, which requires the assistance of a priest and also requires you to make promises to live by including praying the rosary, etc. I hope this helps. Blessings, Fr. Pfex
