Domine ut Videam
Hey Pham, Just wanted to ask for your prayers and wanted to let you know that a friend and I will be visiting the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Carmelites of the Divine Heart of Jesus these next three days during our Fall Break. This will be both of our first official 'visits' to a convent and are both excited and nervous. Please pray that we can simply be open to God's will for our lives at this time. Thanks so much. And I will keep you all posted when I get back on Sunday. I plan on taking lots of pictures and keeping a journal so that I can remember more fully my impressions. Have a great weekend and you all will be in my prayers! Totus Tuus Maria, Lauren

I went to see the one in St. Louis, MO, which, for me, was quite an experience. It was my first visit to a convent and I loved it. Although, I wish that I had not had a stomach bug while there. YUCK! I hope that you had a fabulous time! May God give you peace!
Domine ut Videam
Thankyou all for your prayers! We had a lovely time at both orders. Esp. at the Carmelites where we got to hang out with the postulants, Melissa and Jacinta. Here are a couple pics: Sorry they are huge! Carmeliteheart726
That's the same one I went to with my friend, Elizabeth, in August, before Melissa and Jacinta entered. Sr. Maris Stella is awesome, isn't she? I also love Sr. M. Laura, Sr. Eva Maria, and Sr. Mary Joseph. All of them were so nice when I went to the vocation retreat. We played Ghost in the Graveyard! LOL, it was funny! Here are some pictures from my visit: Edited October 27, 2008 by Carmeliteheart726
VeniteAdoremus
Heavens! I met Sr. Maris Stella while she was staying at the motherhouse here in .nl a few years back. She was very cool. (And a very quick dishwasher - we were three discerners and could hardly keep up!)

I met Sr. Maris Stella while she was staying at the motherhouse here in .nl a few years back. She was very cool. (And a very quick dishwasher - we were three discerners and could hardly keep up!)
LOL, I couldn't believe how young she was. She's been in the order 9 years now! She entered right after high school so she's 27. I thought she was super nice. I had a stomach bug, which, I kind of felt bad about since I had to miss some of the activities, but she brought me 7-Up and Saltine crackers. I thought they were very hospitable. I love the guest room that me and my friend stayed in. It was to the one at the very end of the hall, on the right as you are facing the statue of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. It was so pretty. I loved the Sacred Heart statue that was in there and thought it was really neat because I have a particular devotion to the Sacred Heart. The beds are so comfy! I'm really partial to the Victorian style of the bedrooms. I thought it was very homey and it didn't feel at all like I was at a hotel or anything. If I was called to an active Carmelite order, I would probably pick them. The chapel is so pretty and I love the crucifix!
