crossingstandrewspass
Is that okay or am I strange?
nikkan_hanil
Well you must have a certain calling from God first. Perhaps Tha Lord wants you to do some Catholic Church investigation.
Thy Geekdom Come
That's not strange at all. There is a young man from my diocese who was baptized on Easter and went to talk to the Vocation Director about a week later... It's a good sign...
Well you must have a certain calling from God first. Perhaps Tha Lord wants you to do some Catholic Church investigation.
That is true, but a call can be received before conversion. You will still have a long time to discern, though... Edited March 10, 2004 by Raphael
the_rev
It's not wanting to be a priest, it is being called by God and responding. Do you want it for your will, or God's will.
the_rev
Will you become a Catholic at the Easter Vigil?

I imagine it's somewhat difficult for a non-Catholic young man to discern whether he is having a call from God to Catholic priesthood or just desiring to be a Catholic priest...but it is possible that he has a genuine call... crossingstandrewspass
Well from the time I was ten to now, I've been drawn (or called) to the Catholic Church by a spiritual force, well at least I believe that. I have ALWAYS been drawn to this Church and I think it's due time for me to actually become Catholic. I finally talked with our Pastoral Associate tonight and I'm set for next September's RCIA. Aloysius
sweet!!!! you're in my prayers! http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/index.php?showtopic=7530 what you need to go through concerning your vocation is what us Catholics call "discernment" Paul always affirmed that He was an 'apostle' meaning 'one who is sent', first called and sent by God, then taught, spiritually nurtured, and sent by the Church. you should pray about it and find out if this is truly what God wants you to do, then get active within the Church to confirm whether you are truly called to this. hmm... i wonder if non-Catholics can be altar-boys? hehe, cuz if they can the position of altarboy has always been a position meant for nurturing vocations. crossingstandrewspass
Maybe I should ask Barb, Dougherty! Wouldn't that be cool? I know you can giftbear... but that's about it. Thank you for your prayers, it's greatly appreciated. I'll pray about it to see if it's what God's Will is.
crossingstandrewspass
Alright, I'm off to say a Rosary and then I'm headed to bed. I have a good hour worth of praying ahead of me. I spent 30 minutes in the Narthex lighting prayer candles and another 30 in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
