frozencell
I am in a debate right now and sometimes I get in over my head because I'm new. I don't want to misrepresent so I need someone to help me with a historical rebuttal to the following: BTW, you are just plain wrong about the Bible originally containing the Apocrypha. I have already been throught that with the Catholics on another thread. There is no possible way that those books were ever contained in the early Bibles, seeing that they were rejected by Jews and early Christians alike. Even Josephus attests to the fact that they were not in the O.T. canon. Please help!!!!! Thank you!

IcePrincessKRS
http://www.ewtn.com/library/ANSWERS/DEUTEROS.HTM I found that on EWTN, but I'm also doing a quick search through old posts here. I know we've gone over this many times, and if I can find anything from Ironmonk and some others it should be very useful to you.

There are a couple posts with Scripture citations which refer back to and/or quote the deuterocanonical books. And you're very welcome.
IcePrincessKRS
Oh, and a couple of the posts from that link are from non-Catholics, but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to tell which is which.

MrsFrozen
Hahah! I love you, too. IcePrincess, you rock!! I am in the middle of reading the article you posted. Even if what the guy is claiming on the BB were true (which I doubt), certainly there was never any problem with these books until good ol' Marty decided he wanted to get up in the mix and switch things around. While you're at it, maybe ask him to explain exactly why certain portions of Daniel and Esther were cut out? For what reason are these uninspired? Also, please ask him exactly what makes the deuterocanonicals uninspired in the first place. If he gives you the bit about them not being quoted in the NT, ask him to explain why other books in the OT aren't quoted, and those are considered to be inspired. God bless!!! The battle must be fought on so many fronts!!!!! Pray for the Lord's guidance in my typing!
IcePrincessKRS
You have my prayers! Keep this up and you'll get banned from the BB, too! I guess thats what you get for definding Truth to a bunch of anti-Catholics. (Not that all of them are anti, because I know there are a few good eggs there, Bro. and Mrs. Adam post on the BB. frozencell
Please pray for me. He is a very anti-Catholic Baptist, but I am finding it hard to take him seriously because of this picture. Please pray for my humility and compassion. *Picture has been removed after a little motive questioning.* Edited March 10, 2004 by frozencell
