Saint Therese
I bought a collection of Flannery O'Connor's work the other day and just got around to reading some of it. Has anyone read anything by her? I've read some short stories by her, including her most famous "A Good Man is Hard to Find", and " A Temple of the Holy Ghost". melporcristo
she's an awesome writer. I'm an English major and was very fortunate to have gone to a solid Catholic University. My profs always had us reading her and there's even some movies based on her works. Is the book good?? tinytherese
Yea I've read her too. "The Soul (or is it Life) That You Save Might Be Your Own," "Good Country People," and this one told in first person about a guy and his racist mom.

MissyP89
I love O'Connor! I've studied her more than once; last semester I did a paper on "Good Country People." It's nice to get a chance to read her after studying the Beat Generation in all their drugged-up glory, heh.
Saint Therese
I'm really just beginning to read the book. It has Wise Blood, Everything that Rises Must Converge, The Violent Bear it Away, short stories and works of prose, and some of her letters. I was really suprised just by the little I've read how Catholic she was; her writing seems imbued with her Catholicity. I'm really looking forward to reading her works. Dave
I actually live about 30-40 miles from her hometown! I also used to attend the same parish she attended when she was alive.
MissyP89
Everything That Rises Must Converge was wonderful, too. I forgot about it!
missionseeker
*is related somehow to Flannery O'Connor* (not quite sure how, but... still is pretty awesome anyway... )
EAnn246
I love Flannery O'Connor! I also wrote a couple papers on "Good Country People" during college. I'd love to read more of her short stories, but haven't had the chance yet.
Saint Therese
I just read a piece that she wrote called "The King of the Birds", about peacocks. Apparently she was a fowl enthusiast.
