An Old School Catholic Message Board

NFP

Mrs. Bro. Adam

Would you, whether you're a woman or not, like to have a board where you can participate in a support group for NFPers?

What Icey says is true. You can tell alot about how healthy you are by your cycle.

Now every person is different as far as what your "norm" is, but once you've been charting yourself for at least six months you notice little things and how stress especially can affect your cycle. During stressful months at school where I would be neglecting sleep, and healthy foods, I would see myself go for 34+ days in a cycle, or things would be cut short at about 24 days. This would be a good clue-in for me to see how I was living and what I could do to make myself more healthy. For when I'm healthy and relatively stress-free (can one really be stress free?), I'm very regular - about 27 to 29 day cycles like clockwork. But 24-36 day cycles? That's just crazy!

I once knew a girl in high school that was so overworked and her body was so overstressed that she started skipping periods altogether. This is just not good for your body. :shame:

my friend was like that in high school. too bad we didn't know about NFP back then, even though we went to a Catholic high school.

It really would be!I'm just getting started with NFP myself, and honestly if I had any questions the PhatMass pham would be alot easier and faster to get in touch with than the CCL. lol

There was a great article about NFP in Faith and Family Magazine Spring edition. There are some great quotes from that...I'll have to post them later when I'm at home.

There actually are a couple of NFP boards out there. There's a list on Yahoo, there's CIN's NFP list as well (e-mail list), and there's the NFP Board on Delphi.com at http://forums.delphiforums.com/nfptalk/start

There is a sympto-thermal charting softward program at http://www.tcoyf.com

And, I'm a CCL teacher, so you can always ask questions. ;)

Every woman should have this knowledge. It's not just for trying to avoid pregnancy or achieve pregnancy. It's basic knowledge of how the female body works. It can tell you if something is wrong so that you can correct the problem.
