Laudate_Dominum
why did Christ come? to establish doctine, or a religion, or a belief-system? any of that? meditate on this for awhile, it's helped me before.
I like meditating on that. When I read the Bible I see that Christ came and chose Apostles. He made those Apostles sharers in His own mission. He established a Church upon the Apostles with Peter as the main guy. These Apostles then established churches all over the place and appointed men as leaders in union with them. Christ promised that His Church would be guided into all truth, that it would be able to speak with His own voice. It is the pillar and foundation of the truth. Christ established the Kingdom of God on earth and delegated power to men. These men have authority to teach, legislate, discipline and speak with His voice. It was a visible Church with a hierarchy. Christ desired that His Church would be one, of one mind, one Spirit, without divisions of dissentions. When I truly reflect upon why Christ came and what Christ established I feel like I have absolutely no choice but to be faithful to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. In the broad scope of things I think Christ came to reconcile all things with the Father. The Church He established is an integral part of this plan. There is no salvation outside the Church, the Communion of Saints, holy mount Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem with innumerable angels in festal gathering, the assembly of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven, the spirits of just men made perfect.
