I have read on some websites where homosexuals are described as being dead souls. This is hard to fathom. Since if they are dead souls it would be like saying they are demonic possessed since they do not have the Holy Spirit within them.

So, if they are not born that way, then a married person who is heterosexual at that time can just decide to try homosexuality. No, I find that hard to understand.

I worked with a woman who was married for 16 years and had a son that age. She left her husband to live with a woman. If you met her you would gather that she was gay. Of course I met her when she was with the other woman. How she was prior to her divorce I do not know.

This topic will be debated till the end of time. It is like asking which came first the chicken or the egg?

I looked at the website and found this:

What does the Bible say about homosexuality?
Realize that homosexuality is not the only sin in the Bible. So many times we hear that it is the "worst" sin or the most disgusting. NOT TRUE!! The Bibles says that all sins are equal in God's eyes. He doesn't think that we are worse because we deal with sexual sin.

Many priests I know would state that sodomy (which can be done by heterosexuals and homosexuals alike) is the most perverse sin there is. It is intrinsically evil. This means that no good can come out of the act.

So, I would have to disagree with this because there is certainly different gravity of sin.

while whether or not one is born that way is up for debate, i believe it doesn't matter if they were born that way or not, we're all called to chastity NO MATTER WHAT we desire, the only reason sex is allowed is in a loving man-woman marriage which is open to the possibility of God using that sex for creating a human being. to be attracted to the same sex is NOT a choice, however it is a choice to act on it or not.

that being said, if you haven't seen me around or read my signature, i am attracted to men. I am a male. regardless of whether i was 'born that way' i definitely didn't choose to be attracted to other men. the CHOICE lies in will i pursue homosexual acts, pursue homosexual realationships? my choice is no, no matter how much i want to i just cannot do that. am i strait? nope. one does not have to be converted to liking the opposite sex, they just havta be converted to chastity. liking the opposite sex is a blessing God bestows on some ppl after they commit to chastity, but not all. some have it so deep-rooted within them, for whatever reason born with or psychological or what not (even the Catechism admits the origen of this is largely UNEXPLAINED), that they never experience attraction to the opposite sex. that's not a requirement for entering heaven. CHASTITY is the requirement.

this is a great Catholic Apostolate for dealing with homosexual attractions:

i'm not convinced either way, i think for some they are born that way, for others a myriad of psychological and developemental factors play a roll, but regardless we all have the same struggle: chastity. if a man is attracted to other men all his life, but remains chaste, truly that is better than a man who is attracted to other women but commits adultery. regardless of the biological debate, man shall not lie with man as with woman, woman shall not lie with woman as with man, and neither man nor woman may commit adultury in any form.

Like I said in a previous post, I've done substantial research on this topic and I am a therapist. Check out www.narth.com for more info on success stories.

i'm still not sure it's wise to treat every case the same, tryin to make them all attracted to girls. in many cases this will just trade one lust for another, sometimes it makes them just repress things and psychologically messes them up.

i believe re-orientation is not right for everyone, just for some, and CHASTITY is right for all.
