Dusty Fro
I need to stop posting in Q&A, because I can't reply when I have more questions! Adeodatus said this:
Fourth, by our baptism we are "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation" (1 Peter 2.9). All the baptised share in the common priesthood of Christ (not the particular priesthood of priests and bishops) by virtue of ttheir baptism. So making the Sign of the Cross is not only a reminder to us of the grace and dignity of our baptism, but it is also a way in which we bless ourselves.
So when you cross yourself, you remember your baptism into the family of God? And y'all do it corporately because you have that in common. One thing I'm confused about is that last part about blessing yourselves. I thought only God could bless us. Is it more like asking God to bless you? Carson Weber
Dusty, you can keep asking questions in the Q & A section by just posting new questions instead of replying in an already existing thread.
