Pio Nono
JMJ 3/7 - Second Sunday of Lent CICCIO, "Theotokos" is the Greek term used by the Council of Ephesus (431 AD) in reference to Our Lady's motherhood. It means "God-bearer"; the idea is transferred over into Latin as "Mater Dei" - Mother of God. It basically means that Mary is the mother not only of Jesus' humanity, but of His entire being (humanity and divinity). Hope this helps. Yours, Pio Nono
