Balthazor
Borrow a mitre from your abbot or bishop. That should get the point across.

CatherineM
How about a crusader? Would they mind the sword? You could shave the top of your head and go completely Franciscan.
Galloglasses' Alt
Come dressed as a Templar Knight. The Dressed as a Monk, and bringing a keg of beer with a history of how it was brewed in Monastaries would be just AWESOME. The Swiss Gaurd idea is neat, but where would you get the feathered plume? In your shoes, I'd wear a cotton jacket and a farmer's hat, with wellington's caked in mud and other mud-like parephilnallia with a lamb under my arm and a shepard's crook in the other. When asked I'd say I was an Irish farmer, when asked about the sheep, I'd say I was a shepard attending my sheep, never leaving one behind. No, not even for work. Mercy me
They would have a coronary if I dressed as a Catholic. They would deem that inappropriate even on a diversity day. God bless you.
Maximilianus
Okay, forget the habit. Just show up with some beer, preferably brewed in a monastery.
