SaintOlaf
I work for the CVS Pharmacare Corporation (or whatever their calling it now) and every October we have our company wide Diversity Day. Previously I never took much interest in it, just showed up like normal and did my job, but the last year or so have been especially trying for me at work in regards to my faith and moral stands on certain things. For Diversity Day all employees are encouraged to don a native dress, or style (as long as it's work appropriate), bring an ethnic dish to pass or something of that nature. I want to do something awesomely Catholic, but I have no idea what to do. Anyone have any ideas?
prose
Ummmm... Dress like Jesus and bring some manna?
CatherineM
If you're a knight, then tux would be in order. How about a typical Catholic school girl costume. Do you have the knees to pull it off?
Ziggamafu
Dress like Fulton Sheen (with cape, of course) and bring in both hot cross buns and pretzels, explaining the meaning and history behind them. I'll probably think of other ideas later...
Ziggamafu
You could dress like the swiss guard!!! Or you could find some tee shirt with a bunch of faces from all different cultures and explain that you represent the one Church for all humanity. CatherineM
I like the Swiss Guard idea, or how about a Catholic ninja?

missionseeker
there is a book (of course I would tell you a book ) it's a cook book, cookingwith the saints - lots of Catholic recipes for feast days...
prose
http://www.catholicculture.org/culture/lit...alyear/recipes/ As for dress, on a more serious note, I would just wear what you would normally wear to Mass, or wear an obvious crucifix. Here is a page of Catholic costume ideas : http://www.costumzee.com/tag/catholic/ CAUTION SOME RACY COSTUMES ON THE SITE. Balthazor
Hmm.... Do you think for diversity day you would get in trouble for showing up in "black face"?
corban711
diversity day...that totally reminds me of the office!
Maximilianus
That would be some serious dedication to dress like a Swiss Guard in dress uniform. Those uniforms are not easy to make. I like cmotherofpirl's idea. Go as a brother. Fasioning a habit and scapular wouldn't be too hard. It would be historical, contemporay and simultaniously cover all kinds of cultures, races, and nationalities. That's pretty diverse. SaintOlaf
Man, I would feel really weird and awkward dressing up as a monk or something like that. Since I have to wear a tie normally, I might buy a very Catholic tie and wear a nice big crucifix. Thanks for all the suggestions, I was drawing a complete blank
mommas_boy
Bring a keg of beer. Tape to it a short description of the history of it being brewed in monasteries so that monks could keep their fasts. Everyone will love you for it.
mommas_boy
Oh, and come dressed as a monk, too. It'd be a riot.
