Selah
Have a special devotional space? I do. It's a little black table that I turned into an altar. It's really pretty. I should really take a picture of it. I have the reeds from last palm Sunday resting just behind three statues of Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Anthony, and St. Threse. I also have three candles that never get used, at least not when my mom and dad are around (allergies ). I keep my holy cards, rosary beads, and Bible nearby it as well. At the far right I have a tiny fountain that I sometimes have running. Oh, and I also have a bottle of holy water from the fountain at church. It's such a special place for me <3 How bout you guys? If not an altar, do you have a special place you go to for your devotional time? It doesn't even have to be fancy, just special
Brother Adam
As a DRE I encourage all of our families to have sacred spaces or prayer spaces in their home. I have commissioned Nelson Woodcraft to make a whole altar area for us with custom kneelers and a suitable tabernacle so I can go and beg the bishop to allow us to have Jesus reposed in our home during certain times. I'm not sure it will ever get done though so we use a large/high oak end table covered with the appropriate seasonal clothe and Bible with crucifix, holy water font, votive candle of the holy family, along with shelves with rosaries, relics, the liturgy of the hours, missal, and other prayer books. Mari Therese
My bedroom is where I retreat to spend time with God. It's nice and quiet. My room has 5 years of palms hanging around:) I have a crucifix on the wall, a little statue of Mary, my bible and LOTH. My parents told me I should open a religious items store because I have all kinds of rosaries and Holy cards pinned on my wall. lol

Chiara_
At home, I pray sitting on my bed. I have a Sacred Heart prayer booklet and a Divine Mercy booklet that I use...so it kind of makes a portable devotional space? I use these at college too, where I sit on the floor between my bed and chair. I like being secluded when I pray. I do have a crucifix, a little statue of Mary, some St. Therese cards, and some of those Willow Tree angels on my bureau...not that the willow tree angels are pointedly Catholic, but I thought they looked nice there. Saint Therese
I don't know if this qualifies but sometimes I would visit Jesus on my lunch break.
philothea
Always wanted my own little space for prayer, but it's not going to happen. I already have a tiny house, and we're probably going to move someplace even smaller. But I'm hoping it will be next to a church.

Interesting. You'd be more blessed than Obededom. BTW, I have a sacred space table in my office, but I'm waiting for the chance to build one myself for home. I've worked out the design in my head, just have to get the money to buy the wood and other materials and then the time to do it. I get an extra paycheck in October, so I think I'll be getting it soon. It'll more or less be a box with a door on the front that opens to let out a fold-out kneeler. There will also be storage space inside for devotionals, candles, etc., plus a little hidden compartment for relics.

TeresaBenedicta
I don't have one at home... I really should make a little space, because I have great difficulty praying when I'm home. I think it's because home has never been associated with prayer or with anything to do with God. At school, I made sure when I first moved into my dorm to associate my room with prayer and Godly things. The walls around my desk have a few smaller icons and holy cards. I have a small crucifix that stands on my computer. I keep my Bible and prayer books on my desk. Helps remind me that my work as a student is my vocation right now and is all done for the glory of God. I don't often spend a lot of time in prayer in my room at school, simply because there are four chapels within walking distance, one which is only 100 feet from my building. So, I typically make a trip to the chapel for any extended amount of prayer.

I have a statue of him that I inherited from someone on the table in my room. He is such a lovely saint, so kind and, for lack of a better word, approachable. -Katie
