franciscanheart Posted September 16, 2008 Share Posted September 16, 2008 i dont know that my goals or intentions became necessarily "good" (as it implies coming from something "bad" or of similar quality), but rather they became more pure. more attainable. more in sync with what i think God wants from me and not what i want for me. i think maturation implies the end result of the process of moving outside of what others want for us or think we should want for ourselves, and truly moving into who we are as individuals through God in our lives. when i was sixteen i was thinking about growing up wealthy, having an awesome career and a fancy house. do i still want those things? well, i'd love to have money. and i still design my "dream home". but i'm okay with where i am today. and that's the most important thing. this is an awesome prayer (below) that i really love and it really embodies what i think we should all strive for.
