Intentions

What is an intention? (This was put in this forum because I couldn't reply to specify what I meant in Q&A) I saw the forum that says to post prayer intentions...what does that mean? And what is the other kind of intention?

Rebirth flame

when you have the "intent" to do something, it means you plan on doing it. an intention, then, would mean the "desire to have something done." so when one prays for an intention, one would pray for something they want done.

i hope that makes sence, or that it helps in one way or another, or that it even answered your question. :D

Fr. Pontifex said this:
Are you talking about Sacramental Intention, choice of the will, or are you speaking to the prayers that we pray at the conclucion of the Liturgy of the Word?
What is Sacramental Intention, and what are the intentions at the end of the Liturgy?

One thing about intentions is if you pray for your football team to win, God isn't gonna decide which team should win, and why would he care what football team would win, We should do all for God!!!!!

Well, that is my two cents about intentions, on a specific topic!
