Heyyyy... :( I'm a musician too, but about as un-emo as one can be.
A friend and I have theory

All artists have to be somewhat emo BECAUSE things have to touch us in certain ways.. Beauty messes with our hearts like nothing else. It touches us and all we can do bask in it and wonder. (That's the positive side) but also, by the same token, we are... i don't want say 'touched' ... affected by ugliness and evil, but it doesn't touch our hearts as much as our heads. And it messes with our heads. This is the negative. And it is this one that sometimes let get to us.

Then we have a theory about which type of artist gets which type of emo

and we have a theory that THIS is why artists' lives are so full of drama...

we could be weird, though.
Q. How many Phatmassers does it take to change a lightbulb?

A. 40;
One to replace the bulb,
one to properly dispose of the old one,
one to review every Vatican document ever published to find out what the best kind of bulb is,
one to rant about why lightbulbs are a post Vatican !! liturgical abuse,
one to accuse someone else of being uncharitable,
one to write a lengthy essay on the distinct and beautiful Eastern views on lightbulbs,
one to start an argument on the Latinization of light fixtures,
one to disgustedly rant about why the lightbulbs in Obama's house are awful, just awful,
one to sadly mention how John McCain's bulbs aren't much better (but Sarah Palin, now SHE has good lightbulbs!),
one to make an off-topic joke on lights,
at least twenty three to pray a Rosary for the longevity of the new bulb,
one to start a lame topic called "There is no lightbulb,"
one to start a lame topic called "There is a lightbulb,"
three to go way off topic and talk about football of cheese,
one to deny the existence of lightbulbs,
one to write an excessively long joke about lightbulbs,
...and thirty eight to go to Eucharistic Adoration afterwards.

....and no, that traditionalist joke does not mean I'm liberal. :) I'm still neither.
Ya,and that's what makes us family,my original isn't perfect either! :saint:

Uh oh. You have to be emo to be sensitive?
Emo to me... means those kids who think that their life smells of elderberries and the world's against them... it's all unfair, nobody understands my problems, blah blah blah. Maybe I have this view of them because of my age demographic?
Anyway, to me, thinking about it now, I see two kinds of sensitivity; the negative kind (the emo I just described) and the positive kind (think JPII). Well... plus the paranormal kind, but let's stay on topic.
I'd definitely say that I've got a bit of sensitivity to me, but I most definitely don't identify with any typical emo kids, or emo traits. To be quite honest their whole outlook bugs the heck out of me.
I get the impression that I see things rather differently than you do though.

I wonder if anyone noticed my subtle little joke about Eucharistic Adoration?
I said 40 Phatmassers, but you notice that only 38 go to Adoration. Why? One of the forty is an atheist, so that's one down.
The one I'm proud about though; Eastern Catholic. I remember Apotheoun mentioning that Eastern Catholics don't do Eucharistic Adoration because of a different emphasis on reverence during mass. See? I paid attention and remembered! :))

You are very smart. Me,not so much. :sadder: My strange thoughts were based on the strange variety of family members we do have in the"one faith" much representing all of our own familys and the way we think and feel......Just my take on it. :topsy:

Hehe, I'm not very smart compared to most people on here. :)
We do have a pretty awesome group of family members... pretty amazing, when you really think about it, just here on phatmass, and across the entire Church.

What is gray, crispy, and smoky and hangs from the ceiling?

The Phatmasser who absentmindedly tried to remove the old lightbulb with his tongue instead of using his hand.

Yes, I know. It's sorta lame. :tomato:

Does this happen a lot? :lol_roll:

Since we're on the topic of lame jokes... ;)

What's the most dangerous area in the entire world?
Darfur? Iraq? Afghanistan? Zimbabwe? Nope.

Any space between a Phatmasser and a church, especially if they're late for mass.

Hehe, I win for lameness. :D :saint:

Hehe, well I'm sure that's rather frightening too... Come to think of it, I find it pretty intimidating myself.
