Did I Do The Right Thing?

It is always admirable to stand behind what you believe, but business is business. I have no option as a nurse to refuse to care for who ever comes to me with whatever. I care for drug addicts, sex deviants, people who have had abortions, I cannot refuse care to any of them. I have cared for abusive people, criminals and people from every walk of life.
You had a responsiblity to perform a task. When you accepted the job you should have completed it. If this is your own business, you will be loosing alot of money. And sure you can say, but I kept my standards, but that will not pay the bills. And word of mouth in business is paramount.

I think the key thing here is that he does the option because its his own business. Your job, like anyone who does not have the luxury of a small business or company, requires you to care for whoever walks through the hospital doors.

I know I have friends who have their own businesses. And something they use at times is that option to say no to a customer, even if its means a loss because of it.

And even if you might lose some of it, people know you are your own boss and you make the calls according to you and nobody else. :smokey:

Agreed.
You can't compare your own small business versus the lifesaving a nurse does. Different situations anyway.
If she was asked to save the life of someone who happened to support abortions, she'd do it in a second. :) As you do, I know.

No more tv for me I swear... maybe. football's on tomorrow. maybe I'll not watch commercials... but that would require getting up every 15-20 minutes... eh, nevermind not gonna happen.[/quote]
Hehehe... well I probably wondered the same as you before someone told me what it's supposed to be. :topsy:

Morally and conscientiously, I believe you did the right thing.

Let this be a lesson, however, that no matter what the time constraints, learn about something first before committing to it.
