pan!c139
He doesn't have to make sense. The fact that he posted is enough for us.
Brother Adam
As that link says there is no chance the world is coming to an end due to the CERN LCH. They are attempting to get a glimpse of the missing Higgs particle that would help finally reach the conclusion that scientists have been searching for since Einstein's theory of relativity - the theory of everything. There is only a remote chance of finding Higgs - which has such a small shelf life they would only know its there by the left overs. There is an even far remoter chance of any black hole forming, and if it did it would be so tiny and experience an even smaller shelf life no one would notice. So, I'm sorry HSmom, but laundry still calls.

Lilllabettt
You squares. "west of the rockies, you're on the air" is a reference to art bell's Coast to Coast radio program. Correct me if I'm wrong. Does everyone here go to bed at 9 or something?
BG45
Nope, I just don't listen to that show. As to the whole theme of "is it worth it"...in the mid 1940s a test was undertaken called Trinity. The men who undertook it had a side bet; would it destroy the world? Would it ignite the atmosphere? The atom bomb test went well enough...the world is still here. I don't worry, science takes strives forward. And as quoted in this thread earlier, none will know the time of our Lord's return. So as long as we're anticipating it...we should be fine. Granted we might miss a huge chunk of Europe...heh.
