Man what an awesome day I have had, and I owe it all to God! Started off meeting up with my mate Peter and this guy from Adelaide. We were showing him a bit of Melbourne because he came down to help out with the YTM mission. He seemed to really like Melbourne and especially the Cathedral. We went to Mass there at 1pm and there was confession before Mass so we all went and were reconciled to the Lord. I can't believe how many young people were at Mass. It was really good to see!

Anyway after that we went to have lunch at some cafe` which had a nice view. Then we took him to the National Art Gallery (I think it's called that!) and saw the Caravaggio exibition. I had a ball there; I never knew I would find art entertaining.

By 6pm we had to make our way up back up to the Cathedral for SIX30. SIX30 is a youth holy hour that is held every Thursday at 6:30pm. There is Holy Hour which is led by a different priest every week, and he leads the meditations. Then there is the Rosary which is optional, although most people stay. Then Confession is available and after all that people make their way down to this local Cafe`. Tonight about 50 of us couldn't go to the Cafe` to socialise because we had our final YTM meeting.

Yep this is it, this weekend we will be reaching out to over 1500 Catholics who don't practice their Faith. Has anyone heard of YTM? We are doing what they do but of course it isn't as big as the US missions. Still we have the funky T-shirts and it's gunna be so good. The Parish has organised to have continual Adoration for the whole weekend and there will be Mass and confession before we go out to evangelise each day. On Sunday there is a huge Parish event and that’s what we will be inviting the people to. I can't wait!

I know I posted a prayer intention, but anyone who reads this, please pray for the mission and for the people that we will be meeting this weekend.

Gotta sleep,

John

Ok, I have to make this quick, I'm at school. Dum Dum Daaaa. My parents are out of town for the day, and I'm sorta relieved. Sorry Pham no party at my house, I have TONS of homework for tonight. I now realize I should have read the assignment scheualed for today on time instead of just scanning it as I usually do. *Gulp* Now I have more work than I had to begin with. Now I know I need better habits for college.

Golf practice has finally moved outside. :D  That makes me so happy. I no longer have to worry about golf balls flying all over and hitting someone in a small enclosed area.  But even there, it was all good, just now the level of personal injury is down. :P

Well Pham that's my check in for now. Maybe later tonight I can escape the tedious amounts of college/high school homework that I have, but untill later, may God bless and keep you all always.

Always--

Oh, wow, are you going to say the Mass in French? We're doing a French Mass in my French class (oh, the benefits of Catholic school) in May, and it is sooo great! You will absolutely love it! :rolling:

  • 2 months later...

Well recently, and lately, I've been thinking about what my vocation might be. And I think God might be calling me to become a doctor, I realize that it's going to be a lot of hard work, but i think of it as a sacrifice that I can offer to God. I just want to fulfill his will for me, and after coming across news of the canonization of St. Gianna Beretta Molla, who was a doctor who sacrificed her life to save her unborn child. I am filled with awe at her ability to balance a life serving God, a career, marriage, and motherhood. She is a great saint who's shown me the value of following God in spite of everything.

well today was great we had a marching band baritione/tuba sectional in preparation for our first prade this saturday. Its going to be the biggest prade I have marched in in 4 years of marching band. 40,000 - 50,000 people, absolutly a lot. well I have been struggling today If I should go to our marching band's leadership training session. It sounds like a good opportunity to become a stronger student leader, but I just don't know since its not required for me. well I praise God for giving me this day and for the awesome gift of life. I pray that my parents will have peace about selling our house, and that I can overcome my social anxiety and shyness. I pray that I may remain faithful all the more, and stay strong in Christ. What a beautiful day! :)

Well, I had a crazy day at work today! For one thing, my boss was home sick with a spider bite, of all things! Then around 9:00 this morning, a shaft fell off of one of the new cranes and missed hitting a guy by less than 10 feet!! We had a pinning ceremony for Edwin's 30 year anniversary, but they ran out of marble cake before I got there.. I went to my Safety Awareness Training, and they took us all over TC-L-- down to the service level, through the wind tunnels, into the test cells and cold room, through the wings, up to the attic and out on the roof!! That was pretty cool... then my dad had to work late, so Matt offered to drive me home. He gets off 45 minutes after I do, so I had to sit around in his office until he was ready to go. He had to meet John Paul at the Riverplex, so my mom met us in the parking lot and drove me straight to church since I had to serve 5:30 Mass! I finally got home after a 12 hour day! *whew* I have breakfast with the boss tomorrow morning.... FREE DONUTS!!!

And that's it.

lol Katrina, your day sounds more interesting than mine...

I......sailed. There's these two Argentinians who are in our "Teens Only" group and my friend is totally in love with him, which is not unusual since she's a little over-obsessed sometimes, lol, but now she's extremely mad at me because she says he pays so much attention to me etc and it's

We just ate tacos, so very tasty and good for you,

Then I came home in time to change and head back out to my dad's, uncle's rosary/wake!! I just got back... it was BEATIFUL!!! In celebration of his life!!!! He and his wife were daily communicants for nearly... 50 years and she died a couple months ago so... frankly, I'm surprised he didn't go Home sooner!! The funeral is tomorrow... *sigh* That was my day!!

Sounds cool Rebecca...

I HATE shopping too...it's sooo hard to find modest clothes here, it drives me nuts

And since my mom doesn't understand me (she thinks that if you're slender, tall, tan and young you should show off your body) I am tempted all the time to just give up fighting and start wearing immodest clothes :(
