VeiledAMerici
If I could vote, it would be for Bush, definitely! He supports the death penalty, opposes abortion (moreso than Kerry at least), and is trying to destroy homosexual marriage. I think that his views are much more Catholic-friendly than Kerry's any day. But being the oddball that I am, I'd prefer a monarchy lol. A Catholic nation, how great would that be. God bless. VeiledAMerici
See the Debate Table for a discussion on the death penalty. But basically, the CCC (the most liberal of catechisms) even states that: Assuming that the guilty party's identity and responsibility have been fully determined, the traditional teaching of the Church does not excludde recourse to the death penalty, if this is the only possible way of effectively defending human lives against the unjust aggressor. Therefore, the Church is clearly in favor of the death penalty as a means of justice and public safety when non-lethal means of punishment do not suffice (i.e. the punishment does not fit the crime and so forth). I don't see President Bush, as is relevant in this discussion, wanting to kill those that step on his toes, however, I would hope that he would want justice to be served to the "unjust aggressors." qfnol31
I disagree with some of President Bush, but I'd rather have him than someone less pro-life...and not to vote for Bush is to give Kerry a better chance at winning...
