Giving Chastity Talk To Middle School Girls

I would suggest keeping in mind the fact that a lot of the problems with chastity for young girls are rooted in a lack of self-esteem. A girl who truly understands her worth and dignity wouldn't allow some stinker to use her in that manner--but a lot of times these girls think, "oh, I really can't get anything better than him, so I need to do whatever I can to hold on to him"--and then when the guy wants to have sex, it's just another way of hanging onto him. Women are capable of such a deep love, and desire that deep love, but too often we're willing to settle for something lesser than that. I would drive home the point that they are indeed worth waiting for, and they should settle for nothing less than that true, completely self-giving love found in marriage.

On other practical points though--I never liked it when people tried to "speak on my level" or wahtever, because I just found it patronizing. They're not yet adults, but don't dumb it down--they can tell when you're doing it and boy will they hate it or what. Just speak honestly.

Well spoken jiyoung.

Update: It turns out that this workshop won't work out for me to do now. However, I'll be going to a youth group meeting at some point to talk about chastity at the local Catholic Church and probably some other churches in the town of my college. Eventually, I will (and maybe some other girls will help me) in giving a talk at our college. It won't be for some time but it's still something to prepare for.

So pray for all of the teens, college gals, and also for the approval of my chastity club that I'm trying to start. (The student senate has to look at our constitution and then take a vote on whether we're in or not.)

Thanks for everyone's advice.
