Destructive Diocese Of San Francisco

Nihil Obstat

Brings to mind a question...
Would it be better to attend a VERY VERY flawed mass (let's say hypothetically, so we don't have to deal with specifics), a mass where the presiding priest was clearly waaaay outside Church teaching, or stay home?
At what point would the consecration be 'invalid'?

The consecration is invalidated only if the Eucharistic prayer is so drastically altered that the words "this is My Body" and "this is My Blood" are not uttered over valid matter.

Even a Mass with a heretical homily and a boatload of liturgical abuse is the font of grace for us as Christians if the holy Sacrifice still takes place. There is really no excuse for "staying home" from a valid Mass just because the priest is wicked, the music is horrible and the rubrics are appalling. Long story short, if Jesus Christ, the Lord God, is humble enough to show up at a liturgically deficient Mass, then we shouldn't be too huffy to show up ourselves.

Didn't know San Francisco was THIS depraved!
Anyway, the fact that the maker of this video is an "SSPX-er" is first of all irrelevant in this case, but secondly, where are the mainstream Catholics to expose these gruesome sacrileges?
At least this guy is DOING something!

Now I know. :)
Maybe some people shouldn't complain so much about Eucharistic ministers and female altar servers with this stuff going on. ;)
No comment. :)

The person who made the video is not with SSPX and that was not what I was warning people about.

Jeez, people. I was just bothered that the presenter's youtube channel was advocating people just stay home rather than go to a novus ordo. I didn't realize i was so much in the wrong for being so.
I think that this kind of information should be posted here at Phatmass, and on other Catholic websites.

The Oakland Diocese (i.e., the SF East Bay area) is as bad as the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and in some cases it may be even worse. Ultimately, this type of information should not be covered up, but should exposed to the light of day, to the Light of Christ, so that a real reform can take place.
If this was a reference to me, I was not trying to say that any sort of blaspheme that occurs on Church property needs to be covered up, on the contrary, that information needs to be shed in the public light. The only thing I object to is Part 1 of the series in which all that was shown was perverted conduct at the gay pride parade, and the selling of sex toys made to look like consecrated objects. All of this disgusting behavior took place off Church property, and therefore outside of any responsibly of the Church. There's is nothing the Diocese can do, except condemn such actions in the strongest possible of terms as offensive to God, to stop these practices. If Part 1 was posted under any other context on phatmass we would have considered it gay porn and removed it immediately.
I live in the area where these things are going on, and so I stand by my opinion.
I understand your frustration, but when it comes to Part 1 what do you expect the Diocese to do about any of it?
I find it sad that the bishop has been disrespectful to God.
Definitely agreed. He needs to be publicly reprimanded.

I think you need a special title instead of Church Militant like : voice of reason.
