Maggyie
Ugh I hate stuff like this. These problems are not going to be adequately addressed through YouTube videos with horror movie soundtracks. I believe the Archbishop is dealing with Most Holy Redeemer parish, although it may not be with the "smack down" manner that some people prefer. For instance, after the two "sisters of perpetual indulgence" (vomit) showed up at a Mass that the Archbishop celebrated he publically chastised them in the diocesan newspaper and apologized for the scandal. Don't anybody imagine that the Pope is going to see this stuff on YouTube and say, "Golly gee whiz, I gotta get rid of that archbishop of San Francisco!" The current archbishop has been there two years. His predecessor was hand-selected by the Pope to take the Pope's former position in Rome as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Surely the Holy Father is aware of the difficulties of being the ordinary in San Francisco. The city may in many ways earn the title "San Fransicko" that these YouTubers give it but don't forget it is also the site of the Walk for Life West Coast, which stunned the media and residents with how many people showed up. The Archbishop participated and celebrated the Mass along with seven other bishops. All hope is not lost.
HisChildForever
These people have absolutely no self-respect for themselves or for others. You want to practice your homosexuality? Fine. But for the decency of all humankind, do not parade around naked in public, do not perform lewd sexual activity upon each other, and do not act like disgraceful human beings. I am sure many members of the gay community do not act like this. However, for those who do, it is amazingly ironic - they want to be accepted, they want respect, and yet they so clearly do not respect the Church or accept Her right to Her teachings by their vile activities, their vile selling of such disgusting things. I can not BELIEVE that they were given Communion. That just makes me sick. I have heard of these "sisters" before - in fact once I saw their website when I was browsing through different community websites, and I was a bit confused at first. This really clarifies things. melporcristo
JMJ Honestly, that was really troubling to watch. I couldn't get past the 2nd video ... Question - that "Pace" sign with the rainbows - is it a Gay pride flag because I saw it at World Youth Day on TV; the reporters even took notice of it but in a positive way, you know like peace and then the rainbow as God's sign of His covenant with His people from the OT. So does anyone know if that Pace flag is a homosexual flag or a Catholic/Christian flag?

I don't know how that guy was runnin' his mouth in the videos, but he wasn't Archbishop Niederauer. In fact, there wasn't so much as a single quote from the archbishop. How is that being a loyal Catholic?

If you want to live in sin that is your choice, but don't go around publically advertising it with lewd acts and mockerys of the Church and expect to be accepted. Not only for the Church's sake, and for the sake of your own soul but for the sake of the normal homosexuals who are chaste and pious and loyal to church teaching. This kind of behavior only serves to alienate them further.

LouisvilleFan
It's just footage of events like the Folsom Street Fair, which is largely a celebration of the GLBT lifestyles that San Francisco (and especially the Castro District) is known for, and the involvement of Holy Redeemer Catholic parish in those events. Some guy with a characteristicly stern and "I forgot how to laugh in 6th grade" look on his face narrates during most of the videos, but my attention span isn't long enough to bother listening to him. It's not like the content of his speech is any big mystery. Probably the most disturbing part is footage of Archbishop Neiderauer giving Holy Communion to two members of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, who were dressed in very flashy garb so that they stood out even in San Francisco, and approached the Archbishop to receive Communion at a Mass at Holy Redeemer. He gave them Communion, though it does appear that he pauses for a second to offer a blessing, so there may have been some confusion there. Of course, after realizing what happened, he wrote a letter in the Archdiocese paper chastising the two "sisters" for approaching Communion and apologized to those who may have been scandalized. Naturally, the video didn't include this detail, or any words of the Archbishop himself.
Justin86
Ok, I watched all three parts, and I can say the only part that had any relelvence was Part 2. As disgusting and dispciapbe it may be, homosexuals have the Castro district of San Fransico, and we all know publicly nudity goes on there. There's nothing the Catholic Church there can be expected to do about it except condem it. I didn't need to see all those disgusting photos of what goes on there, thank you. As for what goes on in the Most Holy Redeemer Parish itself, that is certainly a valid complaint and it needs to be addressed. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening anytime soon. All we can do is pray for a miracle for both San Fransisco, and especially Most Holy Redeemer Parish.
Didacus
It would seem SanFrancisco is a modern day Sodom and Gomora.
Ash Wednesday
I have to question whether or not these videos should even be linked on here, not just because they've got some very objectionable content that goes beyond mainstream vulgarity and innuendo, but at the very least it should be known that the link to this "Goodfella Johnny" who is posting this video is a supporter of SSPX and advocates staying home in lieu of going to a Novus Ordo mass. He posts about it right in his channel. Edited August 29, 2008 by Ash Wednesday
