homeschoolmom
Sorry, I have not read the whole thread-- I'm just that lazy tonight. When my dh and I became Catholic it was not because it was what we liked best, what appealed most to us or what we were comfortable with-- Catholicism was NONE of those things. In fact, we didn't especially want to become Catholic. Given our own choice, we would have stayed Evangelical. However, after much reading and prayer, we became convinced that it was what the Lord wanted-- what HE had established. In obedience we became Catholic (with much heartache along the way). Blazing one's own trail is certainly NOT what Christ wants. He wants us to be one-- of one mind and one faith. Keep praying and reading. God bless. But once we began to learn more about it and LIVE it, it has been evident that we did what God wanted us to & it's the greatest source of joy in our lives, besides our daughter. God's grace, when cooperated with us, makes our burdens light.
JustJ
Even though I'm an atheist, I've got to admit: I figure that if there was direct, undeniable proof of god, the only reasonable choice would be to be Catholic.
