The Filioque

I just wanted to say how much I love the Filioque. The spiration of the Holy Spirit from the Father and the Son as from a single principle is such an awesome dogma! I'm so glad that it was added to the Nicene-Constantinoplitan Creed.

yeah, a good reasonable Catholic can see both sides, of course.

for instance, I love STM and qfol's sentiments, and also totally understand Apo's resounding laughter and shock smileys :cyclops:

They do not include the Filioque in their Creed. That is not part of the Divine Liturgy (their mass).

exactly. I think a proper view of the trinity will require both sides working together. I did write a paper on the subject. I do not think we can "blend" them because it would create serious problems, if anything we need to understand the trinity first as mystery and then understand two parts that appear conflicting, but are possibly apostolic, if not patristic, in nature.

However, if an Eastern Christian is Catholic, he does profess the dogma of the procession of the Holy Spirit from the Father and the Son as from a single principle.

So I just got two answers. :P
Which is it? Do the Eastern Catholics include it or not?
