I forgot to mention: another seminarian said that "China did a good job keeping their population under control."

Grrrrr....

I can't believe that.

Yeah, not only by forced abortion but by leaving already-born babies out in the open to die.

it irritates me very much to hear people compare our abortion problem to China's.
just because it "worked" in China doesn't mean it's right. just because you can doesn't mean you should.

it also irritates me to hear that the baby in any stage of development in the womb is not human or living. correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't some scientist rule out the possibility for spontaneous generation. (it had something to do with flies and meat, but i can't remember exactly...) that being said, it's impossible for a human to sponaneously generate, meaning that the "thing" inside the mother is both human and living.

i don't mean to rant on and on, but pro-choice advocates frustrate me...
i agree. there aren't too many places out there that a pregnant mother can go to for some form of councelling or advice if she is even remotely concidering abortion. here in Indiana (at least in St. Joe county), we have these places (about 5 of them) called "women's care centers" where pregnant mothers can go to get advice/support/councelling. they do everything they can to try and get the mother to have the child. One thing that's really cool is that one of these places is right next door to the local abortion clinic, so sometimes people go into the women's care center on accident, and end up leaving wanting to do everything they can for their Child, except get an abortion.

it's pretty cool.

but i do agree we need more places like that.
Wow. I just suddenly want to work at one of those. I can't think of any around where I live though...

Rebirth flame, I know what test you are talking about. It was Pasutur(?) who did it I think. Basicaly he put meat in a covered jar and some meat in an uncovered jar and placed them side by side in the sun. The uncovered open soon was covered in lavra and maggots whereas the covered one wasn't. Thus the life must have came from an outside soucre.

Exactly!!!!

if people can say that flies do not spontaneously generate, and that they come from a living source, then the same must apply for humans. We do not appear in a white cloth being carried by a stork. We are created. We are graced with the gift of life. To take that gift away before the life can be lived is not only evil, but it's cruel to the individual you're robbing who will never get any of the same pleasures (and displeasures :D ) we have because they were never given a chance.

i'm sorry, it seems like i just keep rambling on incesently about nothing, and it also seems that i've changed the actual subject of this thread. I do apologize, but if there is anything that can frustrate me in a second, it's a pro-choice viewpoint.

again, i apologize.
