DeoOptimoMaximo
Why doesn't anyone seem to name their children with Christian names anymore. I'm sick and tired of celebrities and others coming up with all these combination names and madeup ones!!!! In the Western tradition, they should be named after saints, biblical characters, and/ or their derivatives!!!! AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just get frustrated with society today!!! IcePrincessKRS
Probably because most celebrities aren't really all that in tune with Christianity.
zwergel88
Isn't it okay to name your kids whatever you want because those will be the saints of the future?

Autumn Dusk
I think there are some very beautiful names that aren't saints. They are currently overused (like Tea, Zoe and Chloe) but they are so sweet. I think that every child should be given a patron saint at baptism but that dosn't mean they need to take their name. Andrea348
As a teacher I come across a lot of interesting names since I meet about 400 new kids each year. The most interesting one from last year was a girl named Happy. Come on.....

Let's see, there was J'quan and Jaquan, Pertniesha, Micael (pronounced "my cell"), Bassinet (that was a boy, poor kid), Saffron, and so on. CoffeeCatholic
Try two names that I probably can't even type on this site: A[mod]-Lil Red[/mod] and S[mod]- Lil Red[/mod]. Pronounced Ash-ol-a and Shi- theed. Aweful. Also, my fiance's mom once taught 2 twins named oranjello and lemonjello. Yup- named after jello.
