Converting Tocatholicism

Hey, I am not a Catholic, I am not really anything. For the past month or so, okay more like six months I have had a strong pull towards the Catholic church. I kind of want to convert (I was baptized Greek Orthodox), but I have never had a strong relationship with G*d. I feel lost and a little scared. So anyone with stories about converting or advice would be helpful.

Sigh... there are many threads about converts here in the TL. Look at the top under "Important threads for converts." Here is a thread with many conversion stories. HTH

I am a cradle Catholic. But I will pray for you. Sounds like God wants a relationship with you. I recall being so nervous and shy about girls growing up. Some of them probably wanted a relationship with me but I wouldn't have known it if they had come up and given me a big kiss. Fortunately I got over it finally and got married and now have 8 kids. Blessings will follow for you to if you follow God's call here! He wants a relationship.

My "sigh" was not at the OP, btw, but rather at the fact that the convert threads are practically lost...

Welcome :)

I think it's awesome that you want to become Catholic. My advice would be to pray, and in the fall, (september I believe) go to your local parish and ask about the RCIA classes. They teach you a lot about the church.

Hey I think it rocks that you want to become Catholic!!!!
You are in my prayers! :lol_roll:

I have many friends who are Protestants and once they
found out that I was Catholic would (and still do-God Bless them!)
ask a bunch of questions concerning the Faith. At First I got really
flustered because I did not know the answer right then and there. But as
time went on I learn that when they asked a question I did not
need to answer right away.I Now when they ask a question that I don't
know the answer to,instead of just standing there being all flustered,
I look them in the eye and say (very nicely and truthfully of course)
"I really don't know , BUT I will find out because that is a very good
question and I Want to know as much as you do". Then I go on the Internet and
read books concerning in that matter. I take all the time I need.
If someone has a good question about the faith and you are researching it then they
will be patient.
Once I found out why (like I said I would) I get back to that person and tell them.

They aren't happy with it, then they usually drop the subject (which of course means you ve won). But I
now know why I believe on what I believe.!

Don't be afraid of questions. The answer is out there!!! Many super-smart people have converted to Catholicism
such as Dr.Scott&Kimberley Hahn (authors of Rome Sweet Home! AWESOME BOOK i totally recommend it! ).

As Bishop Sheen once said "Catholicism is like a Lion in a cage
you don't need to keep it locked up you needed to just open the cage door".

Once again you are in my prayers.
Pax~!
