Pyrite
I'm a non-Catholic, and am wanting to attend a Mass in the near future. I have several Catholic friends out of state who have all recommended not going to Mass alone, but to go with a practicing Catholic. I believe they are thinking it would be best for me to go with a Catholic so that I can have someone to explain to me what's going on in the Mass, and whatnot. Would it be best for me to find someone who is Catholic/has a Catholic background to go to Mass with, or should I just go alone?
cappie
One thing you could do is approach your local Catholic Church, speak to the Priest and seek his guidance. I had someone in the same predicament and I was able to "match up" this particular person with a person similar in age to accompany and explain different parts of the Mass. That person eventually became the non-Catholic person's sponsor in the RCIA programme. But of course in the beginning there were no strings attached!!
