Not in a human way, but there are people who are affected by the outcome of games, and so I would guess He would be interested in that. Also,If we only prayed about and for things that we thought God thought were important, we would certainly limit the personal relationship we have with God. God is not more important than a basketball game. Also, I am pretty sure that this hockey season he is going to be tied up helping the Oilers.... He said he refused to pray before the matches, because he didn't think it was appropriate to pray for God to give an advantage to their side. I have to say, one of my favorite movie quotes EVER comes from the movie, "The Trouble With Angels," where this guy from a secular high school is arguing with the Mother Superior who is in charge of the Catholic high school. To answer STM, I did not find it appropriate and never chanted with the crowd when that chant was used. Another great one was when we played the all boys Jesuit school in basketball... We weren't allowed to take our shirts off, so they'd take theirs off and start chanting "Take your shirts off"...we responded with "We've got girls yes we do, we've got girls how 'bout you?"... They didn't really know what to say to that one... The Jesuits have had some obedience problems, but they're far from the only ones, so that can't be it. There's certain nothing wrong with their founder. St. Ignatius rocks.
