VeniteAdoremus
if this country feared God, i'd be a yes due to morality.
If that was the case, a) nobody would hire prostitutes, and b) nobody would offer herself as one. So the law wouldn't be needed. Someone asked me to become an escort once. I declined. Not enough stability in the working hours. I think escort services as they exist now should be banned, because they do double as prostitution agencies. I don't see anything wrong with hiring someone to attend a party with you (if, for example, you're in a different state for work and would be the only non-couple or something). But maybe that's just my dislike of blind dates.

dairygirl4u2c
i acknowledge it would not stop the prostitution. if your statement was simply to make the point, then duly noted. if you statement was to critique the point I made... then i would point out that just because some prostitution remains doesn't man you don't stop what you can. as per banning it. (if there's an issue of hurting prostutuies more with jail, then that's a question of how to punish, not whether to make it illegal, jus saying)

Until the economy is so good that prositiutes can make just as much money doing a 9-5 job as they can turning tricks, then prostitution will never end. and my statement was just to make a point and not about your previous post. Groo the Wanderer
I had an Escort once. Was great for the first seven years. After that, I was continually having to take it in for service. Radiator, CV joints, oil gasket..grr. So no, not against Escort service, just having to pay it constantly. Never buying a Ford again. huh? Wrong escort? It means WHAT??! People pay for that? EWW! prose
Escort Services should be illegal. They are a thin veil for prostitution. That being said, if the government does not want to make them illegal, then ALL forms of prostitution should be not only legalized, but governed. Prostitutes should be paying taxes like everyone else. If it is legal, it should certainly have legal guidelines. Women are being abused and beaten down, and then they are too scared to get help. It makes me sick. In Edmonton here (I'm not sure if they are still doing it), they used to publicize the names and license plates of johns caught in various neighborhoods. The men should be ashamed. I think this was a great idea. My very, very close friend just recently left an "escort service". It makes me sick what she went through. Don't kid yourself, these are not dating services. Balthazor
Yeah there are a lot of "cabarets", and "escort services" here in Prague. It doesn't make it any better that the Czech Republic is known for having insanely beautiful women and insamely cheap beer. Some of them are just local female students looking to earn some money, and yes it is pretty much prostitution. But you know there are quite a few that are Russian and Ukrainian that were pretty much sold into white slavery. A lot of the trafficking goes through Turkey and ends up here in Prague. Or they go through some Russian/Ukrainian line..... It is sad and frustrating. Mostly because this city runs on a tourist economy, and while a lot of people com et o see the beautiful city there are an awful lot of men who come here for cheap beer and hookers. You can always find some english stag parties wandering, very loudly, around the town at 2:00AM. One time while walking home from a friend's house party they approached me thinking I was a hooker. (I have no idea why the only skin I had showing was my nose and eyes) And boy were they surprised to hear an angry American accent! But the point is there is so much tourist money coming in here that the police really do not do anything about it. Illegal or not.
