Sometimes its easier to run than admit you might be wrong.
They are running as fast as they can.
Just so all of you know every single Catholic who can properly defend the Catholic faith was banned from the BaptistBoard on March 1st. The board is now run rampet with anti-Catholic posts and pride and hate. I declared publically that I was done from posting there for now, so suddenly I never read my Bible, never pray, can't understand proper Bible exegesis, and am being swayed by every wind of doctrine.

Yeah, right. You can go look at the board, but I warn you in advance, something is seriously wrong there. Very wrong...
Did they ban Carson too?

Hmm. That doesn't seem very charitable. I don't understand how, if one is truly in search for the Truth, they can censor opposing viewpoints. If all one does is stick to their narrow view, how will they test that view against others, and know for sure that what they believe is really the Truth?

I just don't get it.

ARGH, I can see why you left
Enjoy your visit to Rome

Lent is just a fake holiday made up by Catholics to gorge themselves.
I would have left too, but mostly likly would have been banned before that.

Bro Adam, in a way I understand what you're going through. Noted, I was raised with some Catholicism, in a non-AntiCatholic home... making it a little easier for me to accept the Catholic Church in the end run.

While I started (Jan 2003) the major aspect of my journey to learn the truth about Catholicism, it was rather overwhelming. My first tool was an anti-Catholic, Protestant history book by a bible college down in Florida. I used those claims and tried to find answers to them... considering I had a feeling some of these were wrong.

As the days and weeks passed by, I would listen to both sides. I can't logically explain why but, the "Catholic side" so to speak just felt right. Their answers seemed true, considering they were defending their very own faith. But soon after I started to switch from the "what Catholics believe" to "do Catholics have the fullness of truth?"

As more time passed, I slowly started to accept one teaching after another, some of them I personally believed myself (such as the degrees of sin). But what helped me the most soon after, was when I finally accepted the fact that the Catholic Church was indeed Christ's Church, free from error, and that the gates of hell would never prevail it. So... that part I had to wrestle with of course, but eventually I accepted it.

Since then, I feel much more secure in my faith. Why? Growing up, I was rather skeptical and confused on the many different teachings I heard. Some seemed to have gaps, contradictions, and conflict against others. Who is right, and who is wrong? I was no Bible scholar, and I had high doubts I would ever be, so I was very disappointed. No Christian should be obligated to become a Bible scholar, just to search for the Truth. Even Bible scholars disagree with each other!

Knowing that the Catholic Church has everything figured out (when it comes to the essentials of the faith, the tenets, etc) is very securing. I don't have to spend weeks figuring out if a certain teaching is true or not, or having doubts that my conclusion is somehow inaccurate, and so forth. I can look for an answer, and be satisfied (unless if it's too vague for what I was looking for).

I don't have to worry if I'm learning heresy, false doctrine, or I'm somehow being lured into hell. I have the Commandments, and the laws of the Church to live by! Am I somehow less of a Christian, since I need a church to tell me what to believe and what to do? Actually, I feel more of a Christian than before. I know that what I'm believing is 2,000 years of teaching from the Apostles, just elaborated over the years. I know what I'm doing is right, it's our destiny for human kind to seek the Truth. I feel that I've found it, I know I've found it, and I will always put my trust in Christ's Church. I may or may not at some points of my life stumble, but I will never doubt the Church. Never, not till what I've discovered.

But let's not forget, when you're a Catholic... you're ALWAYS learning something new, if it be something large or small. I'm still in the process of revamping my beliefs, it's as if I'm relearning my Christian beliefs little by little. But it's easier, since I was raised Christian.

I pray that your journey never ends till you find the Truth.
