dominicansoul
Another reason why Latin is important: Today at a Novus Ordo in the vernacular language: a woman came up to the Altar before the Lamb of God was prayed, to act as a Eucharistic "minister"...and she was hardly wearing a blouse...(if you would call the skimpy clothing that hung off her like a handkerchief in the wind....) and wearing a skirt so short you could say it was underwear... here's another answer to "latin...why?" ---NO Eucharistic "ministers" This is a role that is entirely acted upon only in the Novus Ordo vernacular Mass.... Those same abuses could take place in an Ordinary Form Latin Mass as easily as a vernacular Ordinary Form Mass. It is important to remember that the Latin Mass does not exclusively refer to the Extraordinary form of Mass. We are discussing the importance of Latin in the Liturgy, regardless of which Form is employed. You have an entirely different issue going on.....I hope that clarifies the issue for you.
