Divided
Um, I thought the point of this thread was to make people think twice about declaring their departure. Why is it causing so many people to leave? :S
XIX
But he also craved the attention. I reckon we all do, to an extent. That's why we announce to the world that we are leaving our last post. That and vindictiveness--it inevitably starts finger pointing, chest beating and witch hunts. It gives a sense of justice, all the chaos as people have conniptions that someone is leaving a site because--horror of horrors-they were offended.
To be fair, I can understand the temptation to do this. Especially for someone who feels hurt or frustrated or misunderstood. Emotions can be powerful, and don't coexist easily with rational thought. So in all seriousness, while I think announcing your departure to the world causes unnecesary drama, I can understand where they are coming from.
To which I respond: "Excrement."
I concur.
Some people go to forums just to create drama, and then when people call them out on it and ignore them they get all offended and leave. You're 100% correct. They're goofy little queens with cheap perfume.
I don't know if it's fair to judge a person's original motives just by the way said person decides to leave. Especially considering the fact that the "I'm leaving" post usually takes place after they've been here for several months or years. And maybe they are queens. Maybe they do have cheap perfume. But maybe they are really cool people in real life that come off as being whiny online, just based on a few posts. In other words, I'm not ready to condemn a "queen" I've never met, even if I do condemn her posts. A lot of people have the occasion of saying something dumb. We all find a way to whine from time to time. That's just life. I do agree that announcing your departure is a weak move. But there's nothing wrong with cheap perfume. Ash Wednesday
When I got my first "real" paycheck I bought some Coco by Chanel. But now I've become really sensitive to the alcohol that a lot of perfumes use. A carrier almond oil with some kind of essense like Sandalwood is probably better. But my knowledge about perfume and a dollar can get me a couple of pop tarts out of the vending machine. So take my opinion for what it's worth. Ash Wednesday
Back when I was an adolescent in the late 80s we idolized Debbie Gibson. I still remember what her perfume smelled like. It was an interesting smell that reminded me of birthday cake and candle wax.

picchick
Polish candy tastes like Barbie and sumac... For reals. I agree with Winchester. If you are going to leave. Just leave. And then tell people who will care like those that you have gotten to know on phatmass so that they aren't all worried and stuff. However, to annouce to phatmass, it just seems to be unattractive for the board in general. Phatmass is not perfect by any means Things happen. People know that I have gotten mad on here. I have left for a couple of days until I settled down and things settled down on phatmass. I told people off phatmass but I don't think I said anything on phatmass...maybe I did. Anyways. My 2 cents.
