homeschoolmom
I read he used to play "Batmanuel" in The Tick (which I didn't watch), so his inclusion in TDK was kind of an in-joke. Does he wear a lot of mascara, or are his eyelashes naturally that thick?
Every time I see him he looks like that. It increases the creep-factor. Bleh
Ok...who in their right mind thought that a movie starring Adam West was bad? that's just not physically possible...
What? Someone didn't like the '66 Batman movie? I love that movie. But I just have to think of them as two completely separate movie characters.... uruviel
I want the Riddler!!!!! I love The Dark Knight!!!!!! I VEHEMENTLY HATE BATMAN AND ROBIN!!!!!!
That's exactly what I voted!!! Sweet!
While Catwoman is a fan favorite for a future villain(ess), obviously she would probably not be the main bad guy (girl), having an ambivalent relation with Batman. While I like to see a hot babe running around in slinky spandex as much as the next guy, I think the character too easily risks becoming extraneous eye-candy.
Ok so, all I've got to say is that they BETTER NOT put catwoman in any of these next movies! I can't stand her! Batman should never have relations with a slutty cat ....... woman. That would be so sad. I would hate that. No. Not happening. We don't need her in the movie. I loved the riddler, I think he should be in the next one. The joker can NOT come back, as much as I would LOVE to see Heath Ledger do another performance, that's just not happening, obviously. And they can't replace him so close to the last movie. Maybe in like a decade or so, like we did to Jack Nicholson, but not 2 or 3 years. And that's sad, because you really really want to see more of him!

Socrates
It's now official: Tom Hardy has been cast as Bane, and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) in The Dark Knight Rises. Sorry, no Eddie Murphy Riddler . . .

Socrates
another Catwoman?
another Joker? another Batman? The Chris Nolan Batman trilogy is a complete reboot from the earlier movies. They're not intended as sequels to the Tim Burton flicks. I think we can be sure that Chris Nolan's take on the character will be different than the Michelle Pfeifer (sp?) portrayal. I don't think I've really watched any Anne Hathaway movies other than Becoming Jane. My only problem is that she doesn't really seem physical/athletic enough for Catwoman, but that's nothing a pt program can't fix. I now think a Nolan version of the character could actually be interesting, especially given Bruce Wayne's loss of Rachel Dawes and the hope for a "normal life," and Selina Kyle being a kind of morally-ambiguous female counterpart to Bruce Wayne/Batman. Bane isn't my favorite Bat-character, and I'm really not that familiar with the character, but I think this version will probably differ from that of the comics. It'll be interesting to see how they do it, as Tom Hardy is smaller than me, though he has plenty of time to bulk up for the part, though he probably won't be Hulk-sized like in the comix. The character just seems like a somewhat generic comic-book villian (chemically-enhanced super-strong, super-smart guy), but that probably leaves more room for Nolan & co. to develop the character in their own direction. I think the core of the character we can expect is of an all-round badass fully capable of taking down the Batman. Stay tuned . . . .
kafka
I see you put some thought into this. I was just concerned that this might introduce some sex and lust into the plot, in which case I probably wouldnt bother with it, because I am done with that garbage. But Nolan usually steers clear of those themes so we will see in the previews and so on.
DemonSlayer
I hope that Bane does some real damage to Batman even if it's not as bad as in the comics.
