I know that we are oftentimes attacked by stupid 'ole Satan every day, I just didn't expect to hear that there would be more blatant attacks when consecrating. In fact, I didn't even start reading my book yet, but already I've been "attacked" - but in the form of a troubled ex, who I thought was done irritating me over a month ago. Ah well.

If either of you would like to share, PM me... once things got very intense right after enrolling in the fivefold scapular for me. Nothing I was sure of that was definitely from the devil, but it's quite possible. I like to hear others' experiences because they strengthen my faith and help me feel less alone.

So far, I have skimmed through the introductory remarks and read in full Montfort's preliminary remarks. It's pretty intense so far, and I only read five pages!

speaking of total consecration, i'm leaving to visit the Franciscans of the Immaculate, probably one of the hardest core Marian orders. their lay movement is the MIM (Mission of the Immaculate Mediatrix Movement), similar to the MI (Militia of the Immaculata) around here.

Specific apostolic works of the MIM include: promotion of unlimited consecration to the Immaculate on a popular level; promotion and distribution of the Miraculous Medal; support of the missions through promotion of missionary awareness and practical support of FI missions abroad; distribution of a popular spiritual-missionary periodical entitled Missio Immaculatae (Mission of the Immaculate); organization and execution of A Day With Mary, a Marian prayer day, specific to the spirituality of the MIM; youth formation; homeschooling support; defense of human life and marriage and family life; work for the social reign of Christ the King; defense of the faith of the Holy Roman Catholic Church under the authority of the successor of St. Peter; and defense of the natural law and public morality.[/indent]

if you want to get more serious and active, i would look into the MI or MIM, or whatever Marian group is near you. the MI missionaries are very active with youth and young adults, i just did a 1 week teen summer camp as a leader, went to Italy/Poland with 50 young adults, retreats, formation.. they do fundraisers like bike-a-thons, flag football, etc.

Hey all-
So i just read True Devotion....and it was awesome, intense but I mean at the right time, you will come to understand it, God will allow you to. If i read this last year or any other time in my life, I would have not understood and most likely not believed it. But God knows.


Reading that book is also similar to me going on the Spiritual Exercises of Loyola. I didn't even know what they were up until a few months ago. And God somehow place that weekend strategically in my life and I learned more about myself and relationship with God, Jesus and Mary in that weekend then I would have expected. As those same sentitments are continued to the True Devotion.

I actually just started the 33 day of Consencration today. I will end on Sept 15th, the feast day of Our Lady of Sorrows which kinda sums up my life in a nutshell.

I was never introduced to Mary until maybe a year ago. I have been a Catholic all my life (21 years) and I mean I know she was always present but my personal relationship was weak. So after being "introduced" I feel as though I should consecrate myself to her in order to not only be her slave, but to be a slave for the Church, Jesus and God.

Pray that I will make it to Sept. 15th faithfully and devoted. I will pray for you all as well. Give it time, pray about it, offer it up and lastly, let God take the wheel of your life instead of you, wherever you end up, that is where you are suppoesed to be.

I'm suspecting it is the 33rd. In the "guidebook" by St. Monfort, it has only six suggested dates but i found a website that has a few more.
