Madame Vengier
Don't try to belittle my posts, Justin..
That's right! Only I'm allowed to belittle your posts! No, I'm totally, totally kidding. I don't think I've belittled your posts. But seriously, I do have a question...it's kind of on-topic/off-topic... What's all the talk about "Chicago politicians"? Seriously, I'm not from Chicago and never even been there. I don't know what this is about. It's like you guys have a secret handshake or something. Maybe no one cares to get into it either, though. If not, that's fine. I was just curious.
Didymus
Chicago is famous for having scandalous elections, especially using deceased folks names to pad the votes. My dad jokes around saying "My dad's been dead for 12 years and he still votes!" Chicago/Cook County Politicians are also known for particular and blatant dirty tricks.. For example, in 2003, Mayor Daley had Meigs Field, which was the downtown lakefront small airport torn down. But rather than let anyone know, he had it done overnight without letting the public know at all. He knew that there would be opposition, and rightly so.. since it is our airport.. Someone who lives in the city could probably tell ya more. I just live in the burbs..

picchick
Liberals have never been better represented in the White House than with Clinton. They were immensely disappointed when Bush won, even more so in 2004. They view Obama as their Savior because they have another chance at a liberal in the White House and they're believe without doubt that McCain's lack of charisma, combined with Bush's unpopularity, will give them a clear victory come this November. While Bush may be unpopular, he has been consistently more popular than the Democratically Congress, which is at a record low in single digits. If the American people hate the Democrats more than Bush right now, what makes the chances of them voting for Obama any better? As for McCain being boring, that may fall on the way side as Obama continues make elitist, snobbish comments about Ameircans, such as that we should all learn a forigen language, and the bitter poor whites comment. Obama is nothing more than a Chicago politician that says whatever he has to to get elected. When he speaks to groups he reflects their opinions perfectly, telling them what they want to hear. Eventually he makes contradictory statements elsewhere, and this confuses his voters. This may also hurt him in the election and wind up helping McCain. That Obama recently fell from a 15 point lead to a statistical tie with McCain in the polls is not a good sign for him either. He will have to work very hard, if it's even possible at all by now, to regain his former popularity. It appears Americans are already starting to wake up to Obama and it's only late July. If his popularity changes from here it will likely only go down further.
Obama is nothing more than a politician. Coming from Chicago has nothing to do with it. For example, Ron Paul did exactly the same thing...he did not address issues. He skirted them and began saying what the public wanted to hear. Obama tailors his speeches to his audience so that they will like what they hear. Nothing exclusively Chicago about that.
Mercy me
You can say politics is politics anywhere but there are some places that are dirtier than others. Chicago and New Orleans/Louisiana come to mind immediately as dirtier political areas dominated by political machines.
StMichael
The piece is satire. And what makes it so funny, is it holds truth. Truth in the way the media covers him. Truth in how he can assemble, staged or otherwise, groups who are passionate about him, without questioning, "is this guy for real?" Our good friends across the pond see it correctly. I can only hope that once we get past the great logo design and artists creating iconic propaganda posters and the empty taglines America will see him for what he is, a fraud. Madame Vengier
Oh, that "icon" is scary. It looks like an original drawing, though. I don't think they pasted anything on to anything. It's still unsettling.

And yes it is scary, even though this was not made in a serious manner, if iconic symbolism were to be applied Obama would be eating/devouring the presidency and drinking the blood of the Untied States. KnightofChrist
I was correct they simply took a Holy Icon of Christ added an effect and pasted Obama's head on top.
