salterrae
JM + JT Saturday 3:30 - 4:30 PM or by appointment.
Doesn't "by appointment" in this case just mean "Hey Father, could you hear my confession real quick?"
Well, that wouldn't be considered an appointment. Try pulling that off at the doctor's office. I usually never make it to Confessions at my parish since it's at the height of Saturday activities. There's always a birthday party or a trip to the park right around that time, so summers are usually the hardest for me. My mother found out that a few parishes near by offer them later Saturday evenings, so maybe it'll become easier to go on weekends. At school you can request at any moment during the school day to see the chaplain in his office - supposedly teachers are supposed to let you go no questions asked. Or you can wait until after school, but if Mass is after school then it can be sort of difficult to see the chaplain since he heads over to the chapel and who knows when anyone will walk in. Sometimes he uses the sacristy as a Confessional but it can't lock from the inside. But the worst that can happen is that a Sister will open the door and quickly shut it when she realizes. Our school officially offers Confessions two times a year - Advent and Lent. Then there're always retreats where Confessions are offered on the last nite. salterrae
JM + JT If only all parishes could have a Padre Pio.
Mary-Kathryn
We are a very small parish and confession is offered daily~different times too. It can be before work early in the morning or in the evening after dinner. The priests mix it up so that everyone has the opportunity. However, there is no confession right before Mass. The priest has to prepare himself for Mass and needs to pray too!

CoffeeCatholic
Everyday (m-Sat) after the 11am mass also, 3pm on Sat, and starting half an hour before each Sunday mass until the homily is finished. All the other times go until all the sinners have been absolved. I love the OMV's!!!!
BG45
Depends. Non-Catholic, but I know the times. Most around here are 4-5 on Saturday. One is 3-4 on Saturdays a five minute walk from home. And one offers the sacrament of reconciliation before and after every Mass as well as 4-5 on Saturday.
let_go_let_God
We have it a half hour before mass on Sundays and a half hour before mass on Wednesday. Considering that those are the only two masses that our church offers. God bless- LGLG

thessalonian
I live in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area. The parish I go to has 1 hour and 15 minutes for 3000 people. Needless to say less than 1% of them go often. Of course 1/2 of them don't even show up for Mass. There are parishes around me that have confession only by appointment (not small parishes) and parishes that have them twice daily (after morning and before evening masses). Confession needs alot more emphasis in the Church and consistency from parish to parish. Edited July 22, 2008 by thessalonian
