It's amazing what people sue over these days.

And I still don't understand why money is awarded for things like this, especially an amount like $60 million, though I wonder how much he will get if anything at all.

What "constitutional right" is being violated by the publishers publishing something? He doesn't have to read it.

No one has a constitutional right to not be offended.

He is suing to abridge others' freedom of speech. They started in the wrong place. They are however, succeeding in this in Canada.

But if he wins, wouldn't it set a precedent that could lead to a mess up with our whole freedom of speech? Or am I thinking too drastically?

Brother Adam

His lawsuit and beliefs about homosexuality is causing my heart to pound which is causing me emotional distress. I think I should sue him for 70 million dollars.

And people wonder why I don't practice law anymore. I notice he isn't suing for something similar in the Qur'an or Talmud. If he did that, they'd call him a bigot.

The article stated that his "emotional duress" came from family members who had read the bible, and were using it as justification to "mistreat" him (the level of mistreatment is not qualified).
