Not cold enough to dissuade me from getting gelatto every day. [/quote] Gelatto is killer. It's truly the best ice cream IN THE WORLD.
Mercy me
I highly recommend Aussieland. It is my favorite country other than my own. However, it can't compete with the treasures of old Europe and especially Rome. Europe is reasonable using with the youth rail pass you can get anywhere. Egypt is amazing, too. I was just there in December and could not stop thinking about the holy family's flight to Egypt. If you combined that with Israel, wow!

I love fruit but not fruit flavored desserts. I don't even like candy (just chocolate kinds). What I LOVED the most was the chocolate and hazelnut mix gelatto....ohhhhhhhh, mama mia! And here at home I never go for hazelnut flavored things. Only in Italy did I order it. It's just perfect there. I literally ate gellatto EVERY DAY. It's not an exageration. When you spend all your time sight-seeing, which means lots and lots of walking, you can eat sweets and treats like that every day because you will burn it off before the day is over. It's one of the side benefits of being a tourist. Edited July 9, 2008 by Madame Vengier

I had gellatto every day in Rome, and maybe in Florence, but not in Venice, and yet didn't have hazelnut. It snowed in Venice, and it smellt like fish. But you're right, getting to eat sweets is the added benefit of walking everywhere. BTW, where all did you go in Japan? I really do want to go there sometime. Do you know any Japanese (or do I need to know Japanese)?
