jeffpugh
well, someone needs to start putting up pictures of their guitars! white one is an 1991 ibanez rg560, that i have modded(new electronics, p/u splitter, new bridge pickup) and repainted. it has a nice floyd style Ibanez trem, i know exactly how to workit, fix it, tune it, but it can still get in the way of my playing. oh well i love it anyways. black one is a recent ESP LTD ex260 "explorer". great for heavy sound(i have .11 strings on it, very "ballsy") and downtuning. also with its fixed bridge it can make some very nice blues lead parts. despite being primarily metal guitars, the ibanez has one of the most versatile set of sounds in a guitar, that i know of, and both have beautiful clean tones.
Those are pretteh. Are those the ones I've seen you do some meedley-meedlies on?
This ones the spittin' image of mine.
That's a nice axe, man.
Here's a picture of the only one of my guitars that survived the purge. When people see the gig bag, they think it's a tennis racket, and when they see the guitar, they think it's some kind of uke or lyre.
You're kidding me I've never seen anything like it before. That is soo cool! I would like to hear how it sounds.
cort makes good, decent acoustics. generally well priced and sound good, come with cutaways and preamps. they are much better made than the cort electrics seagull is a good canadian made brand. their guitars have a wider fretboard, so they are easier to fingerpick cleanly on.
Seagull is nice. I have a friend who has one. I think it's a hardtop. I can't remember. All I remember was the nice sound it had when he, a couple friends of mine and I played some Malagena (sp?) for a couple of gigs. (3 guitars, 1 flute involved... oddly enough. Though I know the guitar parts myself, and sometimes joined in on the strings for the jam/practice sessions).
I've always preferred older guitars, that have actually been played. I know violins and pianos are supposed to get mellower with age, so I guess that can happen to guitars to. A couple of string players in our symphony orchestra here have gone to carbon fiber instruments. They are tougher for travel purposes. That's why I had the backpacker in the first place because it fits in the overhead on a plane. Anyway, they bought the carbon fiber ones for travel, but started to love the sound they make. One who had gotten to play a Strat once said it was comparable. I don't have that kind of expertise, but they probably do, and I'm actually going to go down to test drive a carbon fiber guitar next week.
This is interesting. I'll check the carbon fibre thing out. I'm sure opinions vary quite a bit, but nevertheless, I'll check it out. I have seen a cello that was made of carbon fibre. It was coloured black. Made for a nice looking instrument. It blended well the with the orchestra as far as sound went.
i personally cant stand Godins. they look and feel very cheap to me. Top of the line acoustics? Takamines make amazing guitars, but only their top end ones are worth it. the mid range and low range arent priced right compared to other similar, better guitars. Taylors and Martins are apparently nice sounding, dont know about the playability. Seagull have some absolutely beautiful top end guitars. though their lower-midrange guitars felt... "dry" playability wise. my cort was 1200 and is an amazing guitar, plays better than anything i have tried. sound wise it is great, but not "phone home and start a cult" great oh and there is Ibanez. Droooool...
Nice Ibanez I don't think my friend's seagul was a top model, but I don't think the sound was "dry" or whatever either. Meh. Not all guitars come out of the shop the same, but they do get better with age for sure!
Jesus_lol
heh, not the sound but the playing/neck felt "dry". weird feeling but i like a slick feeling guitar. oh yeah, and those be my "meedly meedly"guitars that reminds me havent made a new video in ages! i have a bunch of new material i will put together soon. Nihil Obstat
well if you're a solo guitarist and you are playing for 200 people and you mic your guitar, you have very little control over the sound. the preamp systems that are being built allows the acoustic to sound like an acoustic over a PA. So having the ability to have some preamplification electronics can really help if your gigging
You missed the point. I'm not ever going to be in front of any sized group with just an acoustic. Unless it's an acoustic electric. The only reason I'd personally want an acoustic is for having it around to pick up and play whenever, and maybe if I ever record something that needs it. Although first I'd have to actually record something...

Jesus_lol
let it be known, i will haunt you till the end of time to hear that, the grave is no bar to my call... or until i forget about it. so maybe a little sooner. when you do come up with something, would you mind if i pitched in a part or something? it would be like jamming face to face only not... but final result would be pretty sweet! JL's been getting on my case for a track of my instrument-ing. I have yet to produce
My dad does a lot of recording, so naturally he really wants me to try... The thing is I could make multiple riffs per day, and good ones too. Solid music. Only thing I can't do is any sort of lyrics. Nothing ever comes into my head. CatherineM
I'm just the opposite. I had no trouble with lyrics, but I always have trouble translating them into the music. I can hear the tune in my head, but have trouble plotting it out on paper.

All it takes is ear training, right? I just have a mental block.
