One of the redeeming qualities of this movie was the theme that you should follow the vocation you're being called to and that if you don't, you'll be miserable. I appreciated that at least.

I heard they originally wanted to give it an R rating because at first they had a scence where Will Smith gives some 13 year old a beer, but they edited it out so it would could be PG-13.

I usually don't go see movies where directors feel pressured for whatever reason to shoot for a practicular rating. They really should just film what they want and take whatever rating comes with it.

I don't know if you all had heard this but when it first was reviewed the gay community was all up in arms and calling for MORE EDITS because in one scene he uses the word "homo" 3 or 4 times. I don't know what our world is coming to. Censorship over a word used by a character in a movie who is AN ALCOHOLIC?? The dude lives on the street, drinks himself crazy, is rude and has serious anger management problems. And the gays were offended that this character used the word "homo". It's a movie character! :annoyed:

My fave part was when Charlize was explaining to Will that the reason
the pairs keep searching for each other throughout time is becuase they so desperately need to fulfill their yearning to be human, to love and to live normal lives.
I thought was lovely.
