Hancock

I give this an A on entertainment factor.

I give it a C on plot though, the 2nd half of the movie just felt rushed and not really thought out. Anyone else have thoughts?

I am absolutely NOT going to see this movie. But could you post a synopsis of the 2nd half in spoiler tags? I've heard a lot about it and I'd like to know what it is, but don't really wanna see the movie. I heard it becomes dramatic. Thanks!

OK here goes. Don't read this if you plan on seeing the movie, it may spoil it for you
Basically the guy that is trying to help Hancock get his reputation back (Jason Bateman's character) is married to another super hero person (though Bateman's character doesn't know it). Hancock discovers this when he tries to kiss her and she throws him through a wall. Anyway, the story goes that when they are close together they become vulnerable, they are the only 2 left of their kind and are in danger of being killed because of their vulnerability now.

There's some allusion to other supers like themselves and their roles throughout history, as the mythological gods of the greeks, the romans, the egyptians etc... though not much time is spent on this. Queue the drama of someone trying to kill them both, then Hancock running away to New York to be far away so they can all have their powers and live happily ever after.
Thanks!

And the review I read was right...it's lame-o-rama.

I agree, the commercials do make the movie look pretty lame.

Knightec and I have an agreement that we have to see the movie first before we let the kids see it.....They really like Will Smith.

I thought that it was ok.....but my kids can not see it....Language was not good at all

I would not recommend seeing Hancock for $10 at the theatre. That said, I think it's a good candidate for rental.

Faith 1st is right, not for kiddos. They really pushed the 13 rating with the obscenities

The reviews are not good. But it will still break records because people like Will Smith movies. And in the summer most people go see whatever is out. There are plenty of sub-par movies that open big just becasue people will go see whatever is playing. Not everyone cares about critics and reviews. I do, but a lot of people don't. It never ceases to amaze me how many friends and acquaintences will say "Hey, let's go see a movie" and then they will head to the theatre with NO IDEA what they want to see and no idea what any of the movies are about or how they reviewed. If they show up at 2:45 they will just see whatever is playing at 3:00. I cannot see movies like this.

Ha I have seen it twice. 2 days in a row. The plot was weird, but the scene in the hospital was very powerful. Both people I went to thought the same thing also.

Decent movie, but they needed to do more origin work.

Same here. I look a lot at the reviews & info for the movie before going to see it, with few exceptions (such as one that I've been waiting to see, like LOTR. Then I go to the midnight showing ;) )
