Agreement or disagreement?

It was in shock at the article. That is so sad that they are even being allowed to do that to kids. Aren't relatively young people going to be there, too?

I'm sure they will be. If someone handed me a condom as part of a stupid protest... I don't even know what I would do. :fishslap: <--- Probably that, except the fish is a condom.

I say let them protest all they want...

...if they'll let us protest gay pride parades, and pontificate about the moral disorder of homosexuality.

More left wing ones, wouldn't they?
Or I may be entirely off the mark.
That's just my first gut instinct.

I'm thinking of making a sign to bring with for the pilgrimage. Something along the lines of Catholics are not homophobic... Any good ideas for catchy lines?

My sister is 13 and coming with. I don't want her to learn about this stuff from people like that.

How about "We love you even if we disagree with you."

I think giving a bunch of kids potential water projectiles is taking a change on their part. I say everyone should carry canteens filled with holy water, and return their thoughtful gifts with holy water added.

That. Would. Rock.

Except most condoms are lubricated and nasty feeling and leave gross residue on your hands. I remember in health class the day we had to unwrap/look at a condom (no, no banana) my hands smelled gross all day long.

Actually, I remember when my and my folks went to Berlin, we walked out the Hotel and straight into the middle of a gay pride parade that was just starting up. (Trust us to walk into the biggest Gay Pride parade in Europe by accident) The absolutely most horrible thing I saw there, (asides from a picket mocking the Holy Father), was a couple of dancers wearing nothing but beaded bikinis, (they were guys btw), dancing on the side of the street waiting for the parade to start. A man there with two half asian twin daughters, (must've been about 2), was standing watching them. And the duaghters got a knee high veiw of the mostly naked dancers... I knew that if I opened my mouth, I was a dead man.

Another thing that annoyed me was the Gay community here in Ireland, saw fit to paint over a Troubles-era Mural. (It said 'Free Derry' and the background was grey and thus, nuetral coloured) They painted the background pink. There arguement was 'That this mural represents civil rights for everybody, not just the nationalists' Apparently pink represents everybody these days. Thankfully its painted white now. Much more acceptable to me as white is rather nutrel here in Ireland. It was just the audacity that they saw fit to change this historical mural for their own ends which disgusted me.

Topic on hand, I remember seeing a picture essay on the Walk For life protest in Berkely, San Francisco which occured a few years back. There was a HUGE Pro-Abortion protest to the marchers. Condoms filled with juice, (I hope it was juice) were flung at the protesters, abuse was hurled at them, disruptive music blasted at the marchers and alot of other crud. Some attempts were made to stop the march altogther. (The Marchers walked on silently anyway, no one responded), The Walk for lifers needed a police motorcade of Bikes to protect them from the protesters, it was crasy! (I can link you to the article if you wish) My fear is something similar will happen in Australia.

I know they've done stuff like this before at other World Youth Days. I didn't see it, but I heard about it from some people in our group when we were in Germany that people were trying to hand out condoms to the pilgrims.
