havok579257
I would really appriciate a preist answering this question. Should I not take communion if I don't believe in everything the Catholic church teaches? Like I don't believe Mary wass with out sin. From everything I have read, Jesus was the only perfect person. The only one without sin. I just don't believe and probobly never will believe that anyone else was as perfect as Jesus. So my question is, since I don't believe this, is it a mortal sin to take communion? Also does the same go for other beliefs. Now I'm not talking about beliefs such as sex before marriage or something I can directly do. I am speaking of teachings that is not something I can direct other than what I think about such things. Like if I was to not believe the pope is infalliable, then should I not take communion for fear of mortal sin? A quick answer is much appriciated. Brother Adam
When you say "Amen" before you receive the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ you say "I Believe". If a person does not believe the teachings of the Church they may be guilty of the sin of heresy and may be barred from receiving Holy Communion. This should be discussed with one's pastor before making a decision though. Until you do, it is better to err on the side of caution, as heresy itself is a grave sin.
