StColette
I would like to know if a study of Angels or knowledge of Angels is based on Church teaching, revelations of God or where it comes from. I don't recall a whole lot of detail in the bible about Angels, except when they are being used as messengers. Is the information from personal revelation? If anyone knows, please post.
There's actually quite a bit throughout the entire Bible about angels and the different choirs of angels. Some of our information comes from private revelation and others from different Church Traditions as well as different Theological Schools of Thought (Aquinas and Bonaventure). After Micah and I get done moving I will try and find my notes from the class and give you our reading list for the class as well so you will have a better understanding of what material was covered and the sources for the material. Another aspect of the course was studying the Eucharist as well as Eucharistic adoration because the angels are constantly adoring God.

I have not spent much time on Angels. It is so frustrating to want to know everything but, can only read about six books at a time and still understand things. I do know about the Angels that are constantly adoring God. I should say Hey to them when I am in adoration.
rckllnknny
There are very, very many (many more angels than there are humans, planets, and stars combined, if our traditions are to be believed) angels, but not an endless number, because creation is finite.
ya kno. i was going to offer a conclusion to this. but i guess that does make sense to me. Edited June 20, 2008 by rckllnknny
rckllnknny
sometimes i wonder tho....how many hairs would i have on my head if i was constantly growing hairs and hairs were constantly falling out? how many pebbles would be on the beach if the earth structure was constantly crumbling and pieces were being split into more pieces. and if finite was infinity defined: endlessness is held in a state of constance constantly searching for its final number (like the matrix) the only resolution offered would be a 9 with a line over it or an 8 on its side. there is also debates about the first possible number. (primarily bcuz of so many possibilities that coincide) whether or not it may be 1 or .01 (with a line over the 0) or if it is just 0..since 0 is not a number at all. i spose if 0 is recognized as a number it would be the lowest possible number. i dont know if that makes sense but thats what i thought about when you said that... i wonder if God is simply "omni" Edited June 20, 2008 by rckllnknny
rckllnknny
oh and einstien offered the conclusion that if an atom is split is loses a fraction of its whole. if you take a cookie and break in two you would lose some of the cookie if you held them together it wouldnt be the same cookie. but he also said that the formula for gravity is E=mc2. it would be 'broken down' but perhaps the formula would be better stated as 'g' Edited June 20, 2008 by rckllnknny
Faith 1st
Here in Arlington there is a group called Guardian Angels in several of the churches....But they are there to seek out abortion minded moms and give the support in changing their minds. This group helps out the moms and fathers financially, emotionally, and spiritually. They provide them with baby items, help them balance their check books and find jobs, so that they can provide for their families.....or help them find families to adopt them newborns.
