Brigid
I work at the public library. I love it! my co-workers are friendly and easy to talk to, I honestly enjoy shelving books, and I'm encouraged to spend work time looking for books to read! at least, that's what one of the other pages said. but he's been there for two years, so I believe him. my schedule will work just fine when school starts, and the hours are regular. the pay is great. if I get sick or for some reason can't come in, it's not a problem. it's pretty much the best job ever. Justin86
Well, I'm in the Navy as a dental assistant, and while I love the military I hate (don't hate, appreciate) dental. The job is so incredibly boring it's very existence is lame. I mean, dentists all have Phds, but they can't reach over and grab what they need off a counter? Oh, and so love all the micromanaging they put me through by telling me where everything in the cart should go. Do they have to get stuff out of the cart? No, I do, so why the heck is it any of there business where this stuff is? Dentists smell of elderberries. The Navy has me working front desk at the clinic right now and I like that a lot better. Admin is the least boring part of dental (no I'm being serious, it really is) I've discovered. I wish I had stayed in medical.
Andrea348
I'm a music teacher for grades K-6, but mostly K. I love it because the little ones are so darn cute and excited by the littlest thing. I also enjoy getting a break over the summer. This is my first week off and it is a weird transition.

TeresaBenedicta
Well, I feel very much out of the majority, haha. But it's good to hear that not everybody hates their job and that there is hope for finding one that is enjoyable in the future, especially as a final career. lost_in_this_world
I love my summer job! I am a culinary student so for the past two summers I've been working at resorts in their kitchens. Right now, I'm qorking in a 4 diamond 4 star Inn. The food is good and I love cooking!!! Can't wait til I graduate school and continue cooking full time. TeresaBenedicta
Well, it looks like God listens even when we don't complain to Him... Circumstances are turning to where my primary summer job will be the one I love, and the one I dislike will be tuned down to maybe 10-15 hours week. God is good. Deb
I am a Child Support Officer in an intake unit. I have done it for ten years. It is boring. We are numbers. Our raises smell of elderberries, if we even get one but, the bennies are good. Most of the clients hate us. Everyone thinks we are stupid and they lie constantly. We aren't stupid and we always catch them in their lives. That is only mildly amusing at this point. Our staff has been cut to the bone and they just announced we need to verify our hire dates for the lay off list. Unfortunately, I am so high at the top I may end up with everyone's case load. I worked in welfare intake for thirteen years and welfare fraud for three and a half years. The only job I liked was in fraud. They threw me out for busting the boss and the male employees for fraud, discrimination, sexual harrassment, mental cruelty etc. Seven women were tossed out of fraud because the good old boy management refused to get rid of one sociopathic male boss. Try staying with an employer after being shafted like that. We didn't even sue them and the EEOC found in our favor on all charges. Oh well. I will stay til I retire and then probably have a heart attack and die the next day.
Kitty
I love my job. I'm a prop artisan. After I'm done with school I'm going to apply for a job as a technician at Disneyland.
lanie
I work as a receptionist/admin assistant for a serviced office block. It's very boring, I spend most of my time sat on the internet. Most of the people that have offices here are lovely and my managers are great. I've only been here for 3 weeks and find it hard to find anything to do to fill my time! However, it pays the bills and stops me from being sat at home doing nothing!
HannahM
Summer job, I hate it. I'm a waitress/host and it's not exactly the most thrilling job ever. The pay is terrible and I literally have to spend about half of it on bus fares getting there. I don't actually mind all of that. It's just a summer job, and I don't expect to find something wonderful, it's not a problem. What annoys me is that I applied for and was offered a full time position but they have me working 8-10 hours a week. Considering I'm completely broke and trying to save for uni and I wouldn't have taken the job if I'd known they'd do this, I'm not happy. I'm trying to find another job as well/instead but most of the summer jobs seem to be taken already. Yeah. I complain too much.
