I mean, especially since she's obviously doing that because of her medical condition.

She was getting a discount on energy usage, but she no longer qualifies, because she got a cost of living increase on her retirement income and makes about $40.00 too much a month now. So, they told her to basically smell of elderberries it up and raise her thermostat.

CatherineM
Apotheoun-When my aunt was struggling with emphysema, she got a portable air conditioner that sat right next to her. It kept her from having to cool the entire house, which was really large. Utilities have a registry for people who depend on electrical appliances for health reasons. It makes sure that they don't turn the power off, and puts them at the top of the list for power outages. Having paperwork on file filled out by a doctor can keep them from hassling her. If they do hassle her after that, file an ADA complaint. First offense is $50,000. That would buy her a big air conditioner attached to solar panels. We keep ours at 74 but we're in Texas and the heat has been 95 and higher for a while now.
Apotheoun
She has to keep the thermostat at 70/72, so she has had to cut costs elsewhere. We buy less food.

The implication of the post is that since Al Gore's personal energy consumption is up, then therefore he doesn't care about the global warming that he's preaching about, and that this throws into question whether or not he's right in the first place. The debate about global warming aside, Al Gore's personal energy usage bares no weight in the argument. Either he happens to be right or he happens to be wrong, regardless of how much electricity he uses.

In my opinion those who push the pseudo-science behind the "global warming" fad are doing the very thing you accuse the posted article of doing.
