If you just highlight a letter or two and hit Arial, that's the same font usually used, anyway. Although, I think your way is simpler, I didn't realize you didn't need to actually change any letters... I didn't know that. There were a few times when I first came here that you could write croutons and it would come out as that rather than carp.
