MissScripture
No. IMO, they make the women (specifically Ray's wife) seem like a saint, while Ray, his brother and his father are portrayed as 3 hairs short of baboons. It's insulting. Everytime she's on the screen, I have to fight the urge to fling my sandal at the screen. And, fyi, it's one of my roommates' favorite show and he has all the seasons. So I've seen most of them. I took a girl out on a date to see that movie. We saw it and I actually broke out in uncontrollable laughter when
they all died at the end.
Seriously, it was dumb. Plus, one of the guys looks exactly like my father when he was younger, so that creeped me out.

Debra is a controlling, sarcastic, mean-spirited woman who doesn't have the nerve to kick the loony mother-in-law out of the house and pull her husband into line. She's an idiot and she pisses me off to no end.
I don't think you're watching the same "Everybody Loves Raymond" as Paladin D and I... But on the looking exactly like your father note, in the 80s sitcom "Family Ties" the dad looks exactly like my dad. It's weird. Really weird. Especially since, minus the hippie-ness of the parents, their family is a lot like mine...
I still lift my head with pride in being able to say that I've never seen Titanic. Never wanted to, so I never did.
I made it till summer after my senior year of high school without watching it...but then I was at a party with like 8 other girls, and they wanted to watch it. I had no choice. It was actually a really funny movie...not that it was supposed to be, but that made it funnier.

Though I can't say that all her behavior is entirely her fault, considering how screwed up the Barone family truely is. I do agree that at times Debra should redirect her anger towards Marie, and not at Ray, yet again, Ray doesn't seem to help either. Though there was a fued between Debra and Marie in which they refused to speak to one another for 4 episodes (which carried on from Season 6 to Season 7). I was gonna type out all the characters and their personalities, but I found out that wikipedia already did that for me: Characters of "Everybody Loves Raymond" . The show doesn't portray Debra as the one who is always right, if it did... then I would hate (don't hate, appreciate) the show myself.
Paladin D
+J.M.J.+ totally agree with kujo on this one - i can't watch that show because of how raymond is, how debra is, and how (mostly) they are together.
Suprisingly, the writers of the show actually received feedback from viewers on how some of them could not watch this show because it reminded them too much of their own family. They had a 30 minute special on the 'making of' Everybody Loves Raymond before the finale, and the writers would literally just sit down in a board-room style table, and just talk about the fights they had with their spouses that week. The plots of these episodes are pretty relatable, even though some of them are taken to the extreme, because they are loosely based on real life accounts amongst their own families. I'm a fan of the show because many of the jokes and the plots I've either experienced myself, know people that have, or could see my family and relatives doing. When he realizes this, he empties a soda can on the fire, then runs outside to get the hose, only the hose only makes it to the couch. So he sprays it from the couch about 4 feet in front of him, not anywhere near the kitchen. When Debra runs downstairs, she goes into the kitchen (after being sprayed with the hose) and puts out the fire with the extinguisher that is in the cabinet. She then lets loose on Ray for being an idiot. This scene exemplifies the show for me. Raymond should be institutionalized, while Debra is a saint. I wanted to see this so bad before it was in theaters. Then I never got to see it and, everytime I passed it in Blockbuster, I'd end up renting something else. I finally got to see it 2 days ago and WOW! He is a phenomenal actor. It was a quirky performance with humor, but an emotional depth that surprised me. Incredible... missionarybelle
i was with my friend and we wanted to go see a movie and he'd heard tht it was pretty clean. bah. it was one of the worst movie's i've ever seen. i'm not very familiar with adam sandler so i didn't know what i was getting into. it's was revolting. the only movie iv'e ever walked out on. it had a good story but it was completely overshadowed by all the debauchery and sexual exploitation. we complained and got to go see another movie seriously. it was HORRIBLE
tinytherese
I remember watching Adam Sandler's 50 First Dates and really enjoy the plot as a whole but its saturated with moral junk, which lessons the quality of the film. Despite some vulgar parts I still laugh at Billy Madison. "Stop looking at me swan!" "I hate cursive and I hate all of you!" "You can't kill a spirit and you can't a dream. Do you have anymore gum more gum more gum? Do you have anymore gum?" "Eric's pregnant! (Feels stomach.) Ew, he's gonna be a soccer player." "Odoyle rules!" "If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis."
tinytherese
It's a shame that the top romantic movies these days are Titanic and The Notebook, which involve fornication. Why not watch romance films that are actual love stories that are clean and are more entertaining? Here are some alternatives: A Walk to Remember Pride and Prejudice Emma Sense and Sensibility Ever After Little Women Sabrina (Starring Harrison Ford) Shadowlands (How C.S. Lewis Fell In Love) The Music Man's got a love story in it too. The Song "Good Night My Someone, Good Night My Love" Simply Irrisistible (Not Squeeky Clean, But Not Pornographic) Roger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella (Brandy Version) You know those songs are romantic.
